The 'six-year-old' who actually turned out to be a 22-year-old woman is having her say on the bombshell case in a new documentary, where she confronts her adoptive dad.

Natalia Grace first hit the headlines when her adoptive parents began to have suspicions that she may not be who she claimed.

Husband and wife Kristine and Michael Barnett were under the assumption that they'd adopted a six-year-old girl with a rare bone disorder back in 2010, but they claim Natalia soon started exhibiting some rather strange and sinister behaviour.

It was then the pair discovered that she was was, in fact, a 22-year-old woman.

The couple later subsequently accused her of being an 'adult sociopath masquerading as a child' in a bizarre, horror-movie-worthy claim of fraud.

They even alleged she made several attempts on their lives while living with them.

Indiana husband-and-wife duo Kristine and Michael later appeared in a chilling new documentary series - titled The Curious Case of Natalia Grace - which hit our screens back in May and left viewers with their heads spinning.

Natalia Grace is now 32.

The show covered every detail of the peculiar and harrowing case - in particular, it saw Michael crying uncontrollably and punching the floor, claiming that his entire family were 'all abused' by their adopted daughter.

Despite their allegations, Natalia has continuously denied all claims made against her about her desire to harm her family.

And as if this story couldn't have any further bombshell plot twists, in the coming weeks, followers of the story will finally witness Natalia telling her side of it in a brand new documentary.

In fact, the trailer for The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks sees her telling viewers: "In every lie is a hidden truth, but you gotta dig enough to be able to see it.

"This is my side of the story. Do I look like a monster to you?"

She is also seen to be confronting Michael in the teaser: "You're supposed to be my dad. You're supposed to be the one to protect me."

The heart-stopping synopsis for the new documentary reads: "Picking up where the shocking finale of The Curious Case of Natalia Grace left off, Natalia Speaks dives headfirst into the questions, controversies, and secrets unearthed in the first instalment, but this time, Natalia shares her side of the story.

Natalia claimed to be six years old.

"The six-part docuseries will also showcase an extensive, emotional sit down between Natalia and adoptive father Michael Barnett as they sit face-to-face for the first time and come to terms with the accusations that have been thrown around in both directions."

The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks will premiere across three consecutive nights on ID beginning Monday, 1 January, airing nightly from 9-11PM ET/PT.
