Caitlyn Jenner breaks silence on OJ Simpson’s death with brutal message

OJ Simpson has passed away aged 76

Caitlyn Jenner has broken her silence following the death of former NFL star, Orenthal James 'OJ' Simpson.

The transgender media personality, most famous for being an award-winning Olympian pre-transition and being married to Kris Jenner, got straight to the point, slamming the athlete in a scathing social media message.

Caitlyn tweeted: "Good Riddance #OJSimpson."

The tweet follows the statement from OJ's family today (11 April), confirming his passing, aged 76 following a battle with cancer.

They said: "He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace."

Caitlyn's message comes from a very personal place.

His ex, Kris Jenner, was married to Robert Kardashian, who defended OJ in court when he was accused of murdering his wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman.

The sportsman - who had previously pleaded no contest in a domestic violence charge against his wife during their relationship - was naturally considered a person of interest in the killings.

After charges were subsequently filed against him, the case led to an an 11-month trial that attracted global attention and was later adapted into the successful courtroom drama American Crime Story.

Approximately 150 million people tuned in as OJ was given a very controversial not guilty verdict on 3 October 1995.

Despite the outcome of the trial, Caitlyn never disguised her opinion that it was, in fact, the former sportsman that committed the heinous double homicide.

Appearing on I'm A Celebrity back in 2021, the father-of-two admitted she was convinced that OJ had taken Nicole's life.

The same year, appearing on Australian TV show Big Brother VIP, she told viewers: "It was an extraordinarily difficult time. Nicole was Kris' best friend. Had been for a long time. I was at Nicole's house two days before the murder.

"Obviously he did it, and he got away with it, and at one point he even told Nicole, 'I'll kill you and get away with it 'cause I'm O.J. Simpson.' And Nicole relayed that on to Kris at one point, and unfortunately she was right."

And later, in her very own autobiography The Secrets of My Life, she confessed to never having warmed to the star, despite running in similar circles to him.

Caitlyn even went as far as to brand him the 'most narcissistic, egocentric, neediest a***ole in the world of sports I had ever seen, and I had seen a lot of them'.
