A mum has been hailed as a 'genius' for sharing a time-saving kitchen hack. TikTok user Brittany Roper showed her quick hack for preparing oranges for her toddler - and it promises less mess and takes less time.

Watch the video here:

In the social media video, mum Brittany can be seen taking 'a cutie' (mandarin orange) and turning it on its side to cut it in half. Once she has two halves, she simply pushes it from underneath to turn the orange inside out. Voila, easy to pick segments!

Cuties are commonly called mandarin oranges or clementines elsewhere.

In the comments, Brittany explained: "I am aware this isn’t an actual orange. We call them cuties here in Texas. Forgive me for not getting the proper name right."

Other TikTok users never realised how easy it is to do this. (

Oranges or cuties aside, TikTok users have gone wild for the quick thinking parenting hack. The video has quickly gathered attention with over 1100 comments and over 132,000 likes within three days of posting.

One user wrote: "I need to try that!!!"

One TikTok user even questioned why we aren't taught these life hacks earlier in life: "What the actual... Why don't we get a life manual with all of this random how to live info in it?!!"

Elsewhere, a mum has revealed how she was pregnant every year for 12 years - and it's official, women are superheroes!

The video was shared on Instagram page @todayyearsold and followers can't stop gushing about how incredible the mum is.

Listing each year as every child walks by, the mum reveals how she was pregnant every year for a whopping 12 years, between 2000 and 2012.
