There's nothing better after a long day on holiday than returning to your hotel room and crashing on the freshly-made bed.

Well it's clear, for one woman, she wasn't afforded such a luxury after she noticed a 'weird smell' coming from her hotel room, only to end up making a seriously bizarre discovery under the end.

Last week, Natalisi Taksisi took to TikTok to open up about her experiences staying at a particular hotel chain in Tokyo, Japan, describing the accommodation as looking 'legit'.

"The place looked legit, with a key card that gave me access only to my floor and to my room," Taksisi said. "On the first day, everything was fine."

However, everything took a turn for the worse the following day when the solo traveller return to her quarters 'after a day of sightseeing'.

Recalling the terrifying incident, Taksisi explained: "I came back around 7.30pm, unlocked my room like usual, took off my clothes, and lay down on the bed. And then I noticed a weird smell."

At first, the TikToker continued, she thought the unpleasant odour was coming from her hair or the bed sheets - but then she realised 'it was coming from under the bed'.

Clearly inquisitive over what on earth this smell was, Taksisi looked under the bed she was laying on and 'saw a pair of eyes' staring back at her.

"I saw a man under my bed, and I started to scream and jumped to my feet," she said. "The man climbed out from under the bed and stared at me for three seconds.

"Those seconds felt like my life was over."

The man also screamed before running out of the hotel room.

Taksisi then 'screamed for help', prompting hotel staff to eventually call the police.

Authorities later found a 'power bank and a USB cable' under the bed, with the TikToker claiming that the hotel were completely unable to explain how the man ended up there in the first place.

Taksisi also claimed that the hotel suggested police wouldn't be able to find the man as the building didn't have any cameras.

Understandably, the globe-trotter was eager to be reimbursed following the disturbing ordeal and was eventually issued with a full refund.

Despite this, it's clear the whole situation ruined the rest of Taksisi's solo-travelling trip as she said the following days after were a total 'nightmare'.

"I couldn’t sleep, and I was constantly on edge, checking every corner of my room," she lamented.

Following this, Taksisi explained in the TikTok which has since clocked up over 5.2 million views, that she reached out to the hotel for $1,600 compensation for emotional damage.

However, she claimed that the hotel refused her demands due to it not being in their policy as she shared a screenshot of the alleged email exchange.

"Now, I’m left wondering how someone could get into my room, how someone knew that I was alone in my room," she concluded. "And how can the hotel not take responsibility for such a severe breach of safety?"

Tyla has reached out to the hotel for comment.
