It’s International Women’s Day, meaning women all over the world are given the mic and the opportunity to amplify the need for a fairer world in line with this year’s theme of #InspireInclusion.

We also get to take a collective pause and celebrate all of our achievements over the past 12 months, whether personal or on a much larger scale.

IWD has the backing of many major companies and businesses who are keen to show that they, too, understand the importance of celebrating women in the workplace.

Many companies may opt to mark the occasion by simply posting on their support online using the #IWD2024 hashtag.

But Kyle Hunt, Australian self-professed ‘foster care to founder’, went above and beyond to show his colleagues how much he cares this year.

Posting on TikTok, he wrote: “Getting ready for international womens day for my office women. Had no idea what I was looking for but hope they like what they get tomorrow."

The video, which has since gained over 43,000 likes, shows Hunt racing around Mecca in Melbourne, a cosmetics store, filling up bags with treats for his women employees.

“I’ve got 12 girls that I’ve got to buy for,” Hunt begins. “Where should I actually start?”

As he makes his way around the different brands, he’s seen picking up things from Frank Body and Sunday Riley, pondering out loud: “Coconut or coffee?”

Later in the video, he’s videoed outside of Louis Vuitton where he buys a gold bracelet to give to one lucky employee before returning to Mecca.

“This one does what?” he asks one of the employees there, gaining an insight to what his team might enjoy.

He continues explaining what he’s picked: “Skincare… spray ons.” The person filming politely informs: “They’re not spray ons, they’re drops!”

He is then shown leaving the shopping centre with hands full of bags ready to gift.

Hunt then posted a follow up video, showing his employees receiving their bags full of cosmetics alongside a table full of cupcakes and sweet treats.

One lucky employee is filmed receiving the Louis Vuitton bracelet and looking visibly emotional.

The women were overjoyed.

She says: “I’m going to share this with you guys. We can all wear it once a week.”

A commenter wrote: “Her saying she’s going to share with the others. Love this.”

That’s girl power!
