People are just discovering how to tie a dressing gown the ‘proper’ way

Have you been tying yours wrong all this time?

Have you ever struggled to tie your dressing gown? Well, even if you haven't, you will no doubt be interested to discover that there is apparently a 'right way' to do it.

Yep, according to one TikToker, if you have ever owned a dressing gown, the likelihood is that you've been tying it incorrectly.

Now, you might be reading this and thinking, 'What a load of rubbish, how can you tie it wrong?'

Well, according to Right Guys Review, the answer is very easily.

He posted a video to his channel and revealed that he had only just heard about the incredibly simple life hack.

In the video, he says: "Right guys, watch this now. For years and years, I've got me dressing gown and I've put me straps like this [tying it up like a belt].

"Apparently, I've been doing it wrong. You're meant to do this. Pull it through the loop at the front, and put it through the other loop on the other side, and watch."

A TikToker claims we've probably been tying our dressing gowns wrong.

He then ties it up in a standard not, adding: "That's the proper way to do it."

Since sharing the vid, it's been viewed thousands of times, with plenty of people piling into the comments to express their utter shock at the revelation.

One user said: "You learn something everyday.

Another chipped in: “Best advice ever.”

"Class," put a third.

While another added: "Genius."

However, not everyone was so convinced by the idea.

First of all, it doesn't actually appear to change the security of the knot, does it?

And secondly, it just looks a bit weird.

One unswayed user said: "Who told you that's the right way and then other way is the wrong way."

And making a very good point, another commented: "If you were meant to do that. They would’ve made the strap a lot shorter."
