A TikTok star has told of her devastation after her two-year-old son tragically died of cardiac arrest earlier this month.

Sharing the heartbreaking news to Facebook, Mercedes White mourned the loss of her son Wesley.

The Louisiana based mother said: "He was it for me. I wanted only one baby… and now he’s gone. I don’t know how to process this. He slept with us since the day we brought him home.

"I cuddled him every night. I keep waiting for his little feet to kick me in the back.

"Little piece of him are all over our house but he will never be here again. I thought I had more time with him. I wanted to be better for him.

"He deserved more than this. Nothing feels right, my baby is gone. Hug your little ones a little tighter for me."

Wesley reportedly died after falling ill and suffering a cardiac arrest as he was being rushed to hospital.

Further details around the circumstances surrounding his death haven't been disclosed.

His mum shot to fame as a 'booktoker' under the username bookclubwannabe.

She used the platform to review books and share book news.

Wesley was buried on November 17 after more than $41,000 had been raised to cover funeral costs.

The death of Wesley was announced on social media.

A week before the funeral, Mercedes wrote on Facebook: "My heart is absolutely shattered. Getting on here and seeing all your love for Wesley is just so overwhelming.

"I will never understand it but Wesley suffered some sort of cardiac arrest.

"We were on the way to the hospital and things just went terribly down hill.

"I will love him forever."

She has since resumed producing TikTok content for her 155,300 followers, but admitted that she didn't know what she'd 'do with herself'.

On a GoFundMe link, she wrote: "Wesley lost his life this morning and I truly can’t not understand why.

"All I know 'is I have to put my baby in the ground.

"I can’t sit around and do anything else until this is figured out. Anything helps."

One video was filmed after she returned from her son's funeral service, and showed her thanking fans for their support, both emotional and financial.

She gushed: "I'm absolutely blown away.

"I don't think I really deserve you guys.but I am forever grateful for how this community came and helped me. I will never forget that."
