Mum says she kicked out daughter who lives with her rent-free after she got pregnant with seventh child

The mum took to Reddit to ask for the internet's opinion

A mother is planning to ‘kick’ her pregnant daughter out of her house after she announced she was due to give birth to a seventh child.

An anonymous woman has taken to Reddit to supply details on the situation and asked fellow users whether taking a stand was the wrong decision.

On Thursday (November 28), she posted on the popular ‘AmItheA*****e’ thread and explained that her 27-year-old daughter already has six children - all aged between 10 and 11 months.

“There are three different fathers, she receives child support from two of them, and she is still with the third one and they have been for five years,” she wrote.

“My daughter works part time, and her fiancé is a chef full time. They have lived with us for the past year and a half, due to getting evicted from their last home.”

The 45-year-old went on to say that the family ‘constantly asks’ for financial help and that they don’t pay rent so that they may purchase their own home in the future.

The mum claimed that she ‘loves’ her grandchildren and has ‘never complained’ about putting up with ‘loud voices’ throughout the night.

She also said that she and her husband want to remodel the house and that she ‘didn’t expect’ the family to be living at home for ‘this long’.

“On Christmas Eve, my daughter gathered us all around and announced they were pregnant with baby #7. Everyone was all excited, but I felt dread,” she admitted.

“That would mean another child in our house with not much room. I looked over at my husband and could tell he felt the same, we discussed later and decided we were going to have to ask them to move out.”

The woman claimed to have told the parents-to-be that they had two months to get out and find themselves a suitable property.

However, the news was met negatively and she claimed that her daughter ‘started crying’.

“[She said] she couldn’t believe I’d throw her to the streets for having a baby, that this was completely unfair and not enough time. I told her I was sorry, it was painful for me as well, but these living (sic) conditions were impossible.

“She demanded I give her more time or she’d go to the courts and I told her news flash, the courts only gives you 30 days.”

Concluding the story, she said that her daughter proceeded to call her ‘selfish’ and wrote on social media about the ordeal.

“She made a Facebook post asking for rooms to rent because ‘She’s pregnant and has nowhere to go and her family don’t give a s**t about her.’ AITA?”

And it seems the internet was largely on the mum's side, as one user wrote: “NTA. If anyone is selfish here, it's your daughter. Who in their right mind has that many children with no way to feed and house them without help?”

A second said: “NTA. I can’t believe you’ve housed an additional 8 people for a year and a half. The audacity your daughter has is truly off the charts. My mouth is still hanging open after reading your post thrice.”

“I don't know how they had the privacy to make this pregnancy! What a disaster,” commented another.

And a fourth wrote: “NTA. Your home was their plan, and it shouldn't have been. A dose of reality is what your daughter and her boyfriend need.”
