Most of us have fantasised about what we'd do if we won the lottery, and this typically begins by immediately handing in our notice to our day jobs.

But one Australian mum who just bagged herself a whopping £19 million has said she loves her job too much to quit.

The unidentified mum from Durack, west Brisbane, scooped the life-changing sum as part of the Powerball on Thursday (29 December).

It was the last Powerball of the year and saw three winners scoop a staggering AUD $33,333,333.34.

However, this mum got even luckier with 19 division two wins, which saw her total cash prize rise to AUD $34.2 million (£19.3 million).

She told an official from The Lott Media Centre: "I'm shaking! I just happened to have a look on The Lott app just before, and I saw the numbers lit up.

"I just jumped to the roof and screamed! The kids thought a cockroach was in the kitchen.

"I bought this ticket for myself for Christmas. Thank you so much. That's a bit of coin!"

The mum - who has remained anonymous - then went on to reveal that while her day-to-day life won't be changing, her family's lives will be improving thanks to the win.

"This will definitely change our lives," she said. "This will not only help my family but also help us move forward with a better life.

"Wow! This is going to be fantastic! It's going to make a huge difference. I'm lost for words.

"This is going to help ease the pressure, but I'll keep working as I love it.

"This is an amazing end to the year. It's the best ever. Dreams really do come true!"

The lucky mum wasn't the only person The Lott caught up with after the mega wins and a dad from Burwood, west Sydney also revealed his reaction to the ultimate Christmas present.

He explained that he'd bought the ticket on a whim, and as you can imagine, he was pretty speechless about the result.

"Are you f***ing kidding me!? Jesus Christ!" he said when his millions were confirmed.

"Mate, you are the man! This is incredible.

"I am absolutely speechless. We only play from time to time. In fact, we play Powerball very rarely!

"My wife said, 'why not, let's buy a ticket in the draw!'.

"I'm so glad we did!"

So, the next time you're in two minds about whether or not to have a flutter on the lottery, providing you can afford to lose a few quid, you might want to give it a go.
