Mum issues urgent warning over children's bath toys after they changed colour

The mum has issued the warning on TikTok to other parents

A mum has issued an urgent warning to parents whose kids enjoy the odd bath toy while having a soak in the tub.

It's certainly not uncommon for bath toys to be lying in the bathroom for the kids' evening soak.

They are designed to be safe and fun, and most importantly something to keep the kids occupied.

But many parents will now be hauling the toys out of the bathroom due to a recent TikTok uploaded by a grossed-out mum.

Mandi, who goes by the name of @roroandmandi on TikTok, was prompted to check her kids' bath toys after she noticed they had changed colour.

Mandi's main concern was mould, so she decided to cut the toys open to see what was inside.

She began with a small pig toy, and what she found inside was pretty disgusting.

As the pig is prised open, a fair amount of mould is found inside.

"Ew, look at that - and he plays with that every night," Mandi said.

You thought that was bad, but a shark toy that followed next left her and all of her viewers stunned.

Let's just say it wasn't just a bit of mould sitting in the toy, but instead, a gigantic amount swimming inside.

"Oh my gosh, this is bad. Oh my gosh, you guys," the mum said, as she showed viewers the black mould covering the toy.

"Okay, throw away all the bath toys right now. They're all going. Every one. Bye," Mandi quickly concluded the video in complete disbelief.

In another warning message, Mandi added: "My PSA to regularly toss the bath toys out."

The TikTok has been viewed more than 72,000 times, with over 1,000 people flocking to the comment section to give their thoughts.

One person wrote: "Tip on bath toys to buy: when you buy bathtoys buy the ones that do not have holes in them and make sure they are closed!"

A second suggested: "You can also hot glue the holes shut when you get new toys then water won't get in them."

A third remarked: "We wash bath toys monthly but after 3 months they become outdoor water table toys then at the end of summer get pitched."

And a fourth recalled: "Once when u was a little kid i filled one up with water and squish it out and mold just flew out of it gross."
