Woman stunned after hotel charges £139 for putting her own items in mini fridge

The Las Vegas hotel guest refused to pay extortionate prices for the mini bar drinks

A woman in Las Vegas is this week paying a HEFTY price for an innocent mistake she made during a stay at a luxury hotel.

The social media star in question, Bella - who goes by the username @dynewithbella on TikTok - was seemingly staying in the Nevada party-capital for work, when she spent the night at The Venetian Hotel.

The plush hospitality establishment has been rated 5* due to its magnitude of shops, plethora of fine-dining restaurants and unique architecture, ranking as one of the big city's most popular hotels.

With that in mind, taking to the video-sharing app, Bella opened up about the highs and lows of her very expensive stay.

One thing that the online star wasn't willing to pay for during her stay, however, was the extortionate cost of mini bar products.

You know the type - cans of Coke, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Sprite, Red Bull, glass bottles of still and sparkling water, and an array of mini bottles of booze.

Like many holiday-makers, Bella claimed she didn't feel comfortable forking out a pretty penny on some snacks.

"Hi guys, so you know in some hotels, when you come into the room, you see all the snacks, the fridge is stocked and they've not even give us space to put our own snacks," she explained in the now-viral video.

"They charge so high to just drink one Coke in the middle of the night."

Because of this, Bella opted to instead, buying a huge array of her own snacks, which she later placed in the fridge, in replacement of the products that were already in there.

"I'm like, 'Oh, I'm smart, let me just remove all these drinks and put in our own water and our own drinks'," she recalled, filming herself remove every item from the fridge.

"What do you think happened in the morning?"

Bella went on to reveal that, the following day, she'd been confronted by a staggeringly high bill from the hotel, charging her for every single item she'd removed from the mini bar.

The receipt outlined a demand for payment in the total of $175, which equates to around £139.

Whilst this colossal cost might have come as a surprise to Bella, by the sounds of the majority of her viewers' comments, she should have known better.

She instead restocked the fridge with her own products.

"Minibar has sensors so if you move or remove something you’re automatically charged," one advised her.

A second noted: "You definitely paying for all the drinks".

In a follow-up video, however, Bella revealed that she'd appealed to the hotel bosses, showing them her original TikTok in which she can be seen removing all the beverages but not drinking them.

"Anytime you see this minibar, make sure there is no sensors. Confirm with the front desk please," she subsequently suggested her followers.
