The Christmas season this year has been unlike any other. Luckily, we can enjoy one of our favourite festive events virtually.

Yep, you can enjoy a merry Midnight Mass service from the comfort of your own home as many churches around the country have either completely moved their services and celebrations online this year or will be, too.

There are loads of virtual Christmas carol services to stream! (

There are tonnes of different virtual options available if you want to get into the Christmas spirit from home.

So, we pulled together some of the best for you.

Chichester Cathedral will be hosting Christmas carol services which can also be streamed online via their website, YouTube and Facebook page. There will be a Christmas Eve service and a Midnight Eucharist service on Christmas Day.

The Cambridgeshire based Ely Cathedral will welcome virtual guests this festive season, with a carol service streamed on Christmas Eve at 3pm and the First Eucharist of Christmas the same day at 10.30pm.

There will be a sung Eucharist on Christmas day at 9.30am. All will be available on their social media channels.

Canterbury Cathedral will broadcast a Christmas carol service live on their website on Christmas Eve from 5.30pm.

Most events can be streamed from the official websites or social media pages for free (

There will be several events taking place on Christmas day too, including carols with the Archbishop of Canterbury (Boys' and Men's voices) at 9am and another at 11.30 with Girls' voices. At 3pm you can stream more carols.

All of Coventry Cathedral's carol events will be live-streamed and will continue throughout the Christmas period.

There will be a few pre-recorded services that will be streamed on its Facebook page and YouTube channel, including A Service of Music and Readings, which is due to be recorded on the 29 November and Carols by Candlelight, due to be recorded on the 13 December. On Christmas Eve a special service will be live streamed as well.

For all those wanting to attend a service at the Cathedral Isle of Man, all of its services are live-streamed. Chief Minister Howard Quayle has maintained strict border restrictions and only residents and people with an exemption or using the Guernsey air bridge can travel to the island.

However you can still celebrate Christmas remotely and for those of you who wanted to visit, here is the perfect solution.

On Christmas Eve from 11.30pm a Midnight Mass service will be live streamed from the Cathedral Isle of Man website and on Christmas day you can stream a Eucharist with Bishop Peter from 10.30am.

Rochester Cathedral will live stream a virtual Children's Nativity service which you can watch on the Rochester Cathedral Facebook page on Christmas Eve.
