Almost Half Of People Would Give Up Their Dog For A Month To Keep Their Smartphone

Almost Half Of People Would Give Up Their Dog For A Month To Keep Their Smartphone

Heartless, the lot of you!

There's no denying the world is addicted to their mobile phones - we certainly couldn't live without ours.

But a new survey has revealed just how hooked some people are (clue: it's DISTURBING).

Research from SimpleTexting has shown that some technology fanatics would rather give up their dog for a month than lose their mobiles.

Seriously, how cold hearted are you all?!

In total, 40 per cent of us would put our phones before our pups when it came to saying goodbye to one of them for a month.

If you thought that was shocking, 44 per cent would shun their romantic partner to keep a smartphone in their hand.

At least the pets managed to beat the humans!

Now, here's where it gets interesting. Of those surveyed, 53 per cent of respondents said they weren't up for going without sex for a month, and would rather sacrifice their smartphones.

When it came to Gen Z respondents, though, 56 per cent chose their phones over hanky-panky.

The poll spoke to Americans across all 50 states, also also discovered that 72 per cent of those surveyed said they'd give up booze for their phone.

(Somehow, we're not sure the results would be the same here in the UK!)

As many as 64 per cent said they'd give up coffee, while 53 per cent said they would rather give up going to a beach all summer to keep their smartphone on them.

Looks like they might be making that sacrifice anyway, given the current global climate...

Perhaps most bizarrely, 60 per cent of people were happy to give up social media for a month if it meant they could keep their phones.

What are you going to do, sit there refreshing your emails?!

There's no denying we're glued to our phones - but if anybody is addicted enough to banish their own pup then we would strongly advise they get out more.

Sorry, not sorry.
