A woman has potentially saved us all from a pre-holiday splurge by sharing a 'genius' hack to save money and get around the 100ml liquid rule in hand luggage at the airport. Watch below:

Holly Louise, 22, was preparing for her trip to Turkey with a friend earlier this month when she decided she was fed up of paying the airport prices for sunscreen and shower gel.

All airlines have a 100ml liquid rule where a passenger cannot exceed the limit per item in their carry-on luggage, and have to fit in a 20cm x 20cm plastic bag.

Holly came up with a plan to buy all her toiletries at a Boots store located in Gatwick Airport, where she was traveling from, which saved her time and money.

The savvy TikToker placed her order two weeks in advance and picked up her items after going through security.

Not only did she curb restrictions, but it meant she didn't have to pay airport prices which are often higher than the high street.

"I can't believe I hadn't been doing it before,” Holly told NeedToKnow.online.

"It not only saved me money because I avoided airport prices and got extra discounts and offers online but also meant I could have more choice of products than the limited choice in the airport.

"I didn't have any problem getting it on the plane as it counted as duty free and I shared it all with my friend so we managed to use it up and didn't have to carry it on the flight back with us."

Holly's TikTok was posted to her account - @hollylouise.22 - where it was viewed more than 554,000 times and has racked up 27,000 likes.

Holly wrote in the caption: "This is your sign to do a Boots order for collection at the airport so you can get over 100ml."

She filmed her large bag of Boots products which were over the liquid restrictions. The goodies included full-size sun cream, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, after sun, body lotion, body spray and a hair mask, ready to take on holiday.

TikTok users loved the hack and rushed to the comments to thank Holly for sharing her idea.

"THIS IS GENIUS," one person wrote. "I was literally thinking of buying things in duty free, but then found this! Thaaaaanks [sic]."

Another TikTok user added: "I love this! I always just pay for check-in baggage so I never worry but I'll be trying this next time."

While another holidaymaker reflected: "Man I wish I knew that before."

However, some were already privy to the hack, with one person commenting: "I’ve done this for years. Also means you can choose from the web site so you get what you want rather than sometimes limited brands at the airport."
