A woman has been mum-shamed after admitted she preps her son’s lunches with 80 chicken nuggets from McDonald’s.

Whether you’re a parent or just a grown-up struggling to adult, lunch prep can really take it out of you sometimes – especially if you want to keep things healthy, varied or cheap.

But one mum has a trick to at least take the pressure off, choosing to bulk buy the one thing she knows her son will eat.

Mum of two Se (@SeebieDeebie), from South Carolina, posted a video on TikTok to share her nifty but divisive hack with the world.

“I just got 80 Chicken McNuggets from McDonald’s, and I’m gonna freeze them,” she explained.

“These are the only nuggets that my child eats, so that’s why I buy so many of them and then I freeze them.”

Demonstrating the process, she continued: “I take a Ziploc bag, and I put them all in the Ziploc bag.

"This is what they’re gonna look like – you're gonna wanna squeeze all the air out of them.

“Then what I do is I put them in the refrigerator for one day.

“The reason why you put them in the refrigerator for one day is because, you see that sweating? You want it to cool down before you put it in the freezer so that they don’t stick together.”

She said she also puts McDonald’s sauces in the refrigerator with the nuggets, just to make sure there was plenty of dipping potential for her little’un.

Taking the bag out of the freezer, she then showed how she puts the nuggets onto a plate before popping them in the microwave.

“I usually do 10 of them at a time,” Se said.

“You see how nice and loose they are? They’re not stuck to each other – that's why you want to refrigerate them.”

If she’s preparing 10 nuggets, Se microwaves them on high for one minute and 30 seconds – though as with all reheated food, make sure yours is PIPING hot before you eat; a safer way would be to let the nuggets fully defrost in the refrigerator before heating them up in the microwave.

“They’re out of the microwave and now they’re ready to eat,” she added, as her happy son started tucking in.

Many people were baffled by the idea, with one saying they were ‘speechless’ after watching the video.

“That’s real healthy,” one said.

“You lost me with the microwave,” another added.

Others, however, felt the trick was ‘freaking genius’, while some defended the busy mum, with one saying: “All these negative comments and they’re probably not parents! You do what you have to do to make sure your kid eats! Chicken nuggets it is!”

Another said: “As an autistic mama, I totally get this. We bulk buy for our son who has food sensitivity and preference!”
