A man has gone viral for a controversial Christmas Dinner hack.

He serves his food in disposable foil trays - and it has left the internet divided.

Now, we all know that a meal as epic as Christmas dinner leads to a lot of washing up.

But one man wants to avoid doing chores on the most special day of the year - and he's got a special method for doing it.

The man went viral after sharing pictures of his Christmas table, laid exclusively with disposable foil trays.

His foil trays have caused an uproar.

While it certainly saves on washing up, many have branded the hack 'lazy.

Other have complained about the lack of ambience these foil trays bring to a Christmastime table ...

One mum said: “I like doing the table up nice for the children, to make it special for them - but could do it as a joke one year when they are older.”

Another added: “No, no, no - I wouldn't eat off tin foil. So lazy.”

Others had another major issue with the tinfoil trays.

The single use items are thrown away at the end of the meal - meaning they're not very environmentally friendly!

“This ends up in landfill I presume. It doesn’t take long to wash a few plates – get the family involved...and use the pretty plates instead of this,” one woman complained.

Another eco warrior agreed: “My thoughts exactly – if everyone did this it would be so bad for the environment. Takes two minutes to wash a few plates.”

The foil trays are highly controversial.

However, the man did have some people on his side.

One woman wrote: “Might have to do this the way my toddler keeps smashing plates – she has plastic ones but gets hold of ours.”

Another agreed: “I already use baking trays to cook everything, paper plated are too small and don’t hold gravy well but this is epic.”

While one dish washing hater branded the hack as ‘their kind of heaven’.

The OP did defend their lazy ways against the haters.

The mum of the family said her family ‘recycle often’.

She also responded to those calling her table ugly with a simple: "Get real."

Would you serve your Christmas dinner in foil trays?
