‘Disgusting’ shirt tag goes viral - people are very confused

The artist Bokunou created the clothing as part of an exhibition

A T-shirt has left the internet with varying degrees of emotions after displaying its label, which comes with an unconventional reference.

Fashion is subjective, and most people are truly aware of this fact.

From styling yourself, to keeping up with the latest trends, there is something about clothing that brings out people’s inner fashionista.

But one person’s trash is another person's treasure, which can be said for this viral T-shirt too.

The drama caused by a simple garment might seem daft, but once you see why, you might be on the side of those who are for or against the inner label.

There have been many controversial items of clothing throughout history, and particularly during modern times.

We’ve had Kim Kardashian’s hairy underwear cause a ruckus, to low-hanging trousers making people look twice.

But what you might not have seen before is a razor-inspired tag on a t-shirt neckline, with blood and all.

Created by artist Bokunou, the shirt has been met with reactions such as people asking ‘why’ they’d create the top, calling it ‘disgusting’, and even saying it simply has them ‘confused’.

Designed to deter people from looking at the tag, it reads: “Don’t Look At The Tag.”

It also claims to give people 'bloody fingers' if they touch it.

The Japanese musical artist went rogue, and decided to drop a line of clothing at Shibuya PARCO, curated by Chim Pom, which shows distressed and unconventional pieces exhibited in June of 2024.

One person online wrote of the top: “That’s disgusting y make a shirt like that? Better be a joke I don’t want to see real blood.”

Another said: “What’s the point tho, who randomly goes and looks at someones tag?”

Someone else commented: “Lmaoo I’m confused.”

According to Niew Media, Bokunou is known for ‘diverse roles as a comedian, performer, and artist’.

But this time, ‘instead of DJing to liven up events with music’, he turned himself into a Smell Jockey, manipulating ‘smell’, per the outlet.

Apparently, his exhibition included a white t-shirt for a tomato sauce splattering game, a balaclava, and more.

Last year, his solo exhibition ‘Artisanal’ was held from 16 July to 9 November 9 2025, but while the 2024 exhibition featured an archive of 1,000 artwork, per translation from the Japanese news site, ADF Web Magazine, it is not known what the focus of the second event was.

However, other items of clothing can be seen on pages reporting the event, such as distressed jeans and hoodies.
