If you've ever considered putting a dog toy in the dryer, it's probably best to think again.

When Corey Nelson, who works at an animal shelter in Idaho, emptied the dryer after loading up a stash of dog blankets, she came across a rubber dog toy that had accidentally made its way into the machine.

But, the toy looked a *lot* different post-dry. In fact, Corey explained it came out looking like "a different kind of bone".

The seven-inch, phallic-shaped toy was originally the shape of a dog bone, but after a spin in the dryer it appeared to have melted into something quite different.

Finding it hilarious, Corey shared the story on Facebook, where the post racked up nearly 5,000 likes and comments.

"There's a reason you shouldn't put rubber dog toys in the dryer," the post read.

Corey, 31, went on to explain: "When I found it I was like, you've got to be kidding me.

"Then we were joking because I peeled it off the dryer and remember thinking, this looks like a whole different kind of bone right now.

"I couldn't leave the laundry room because I couldn't stop laughing.

"Finally, when my co-workers came back in they were like, 'what is going on here?' And I just lifted it up to them.

"I was red in the face, I couldn't breathe and then we all started laughing. I kept sneaking up behind everybody saying I found something of yours in the dryer and then I'd pull it out."

"My boss thought it was the funniest thing she'd seen all day."

The Facebook post has since gone viral, with thousands commenting on the blunder (

Others joked about the discovery on Facebook, with one commenting on the post: "Or perhaps there's a reason you SHOULD put dog toys in the dryer."

While another quipped: "I'm about to save money and buy dog toys from now on."
