Jameela Jamil Creates Faux Diet To Highlight The ‘Truth’ Behind Celebrity Detox Teas
Talk about spilling the tea: Jameela Jamil has continued her campaign against celebrities endorsing potentially health-damaging 'detox' products with a parody video of herself 'sh*tting her pants' on Instagram.
The post, in which the actor jokingly promotes the teas then runs to the toilet and cries because 'it burns' is captioned: "If influencers and celebrities were actually honest with us about some of these Slimming/detox products..."
Responding to the attention the video received the actress, presenter and female advocate posted on Twitter: "I know I'm being a bit extra over this whole thing, but the war against women's bodies/general image is ongoing and out of control. Teen surgery, eating disorders and self-harm are at an ALL TIME HIGH. So it's going to involve a big noise to fight back. Don't like it? Mute me..."
Jameela has doubled down on her fight against 'detox' tea and has been vocal on social media over the last week in her criticism of the likes of Khloe Kardashian, Cardi B, Iggy Azalea and Amber Rose for endorsing weight loss products that are bad for health and spread damaging messages to young women.
Jameela shared a photo of Cardi B's sponsored post for Teami Blends, writing to her Twitter followers, "They got Cardi B on the laxative nonsense 'detox' tea. GOD I hope all these celebrities all sh*t their pants in public, the way the poor women who buy this nonsense upon their recommendation do. Not that they actually take this sh*t. They just flog it because they need MORE MONEY."

Cardi clapped back: "I will never sh*it my pants cause there's [sic] public bathrooms everywhere... oooo and bushes..."
But Jameela refused to let Cardi have the last word replying: "Regarding her response: she will never sh*t her pants, not because of bushes, but because she probably doesn't ever take the products she promotes...during her promotional video she keeps looking at the name of the product on the cup... almost as if she's never seen it..."

So why is Jameela so fired up on this issue? She recently tweeted an explanation: "I was the teenager who starved herself for years, who spent all her money on these miracle cures and laxatives and tips from celebrities on how to maintain a weight that was lower than what my body wanted it to be. I was sick, I have had digestion and metabolism problems for life."
Jamil has previously spoken out about the importance of body positivity in women, delivering a speech at the Body Confidence Awards in London in 2014. In February of 2018 she tweeted an image of an Instagram post that detailed how much each female member of the Kardashian family weighed. She captioned the image: "This is how women are taught to value themselves. In kilograms. Grim."

She then shared her own version of what she "weighed" attributing her weight to the things in her life that she values the most like being in a loving relationship, having great friends, being financially independent and speaking out for women's rights.
She then tweeted: "I've shown you mine, now show me what you think you weigh."
The 'I Weigh' movement encourages its followers to "...feel valuable and see how amazing we are, and look beyond the flesh on our bones."
