It is now common knowledge that McDonald’s menus around the world tend to have small tweaks or specific products designed to appease the appetites of different countries.
However, TikTok users were left simultaneously drooling and in a complete state of shock when it was revealed that customers can buy a full block of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese at the restaurant.

TikTok user @_amberjs posted the short clip to her profile on 30th March and it has racked up 155,700 likes and 2.7 million views already.

In the clip, the block of cheese can be seen as one of the options on the menu displayed on the touchscreen kiosk.
A deep dive into the Italian McDonald’s website confirms that the cheese is certainly up for grabs for dairy lovers.
The Parmigiano Reggiano snack is dubbed a “pocket cheese” on the site and it costs just €1 (£0.83).
“A bar of real Parmigiano Reggiano DOP in a convenient single-serving package,” the official description on the website reads.

“Perfect for your Happy Meal or to accompany your salads.”
We won’t judge if you nibble on the bar like you would with chocolate either.
The comments section was filled with delighted McDonald’s fans, and the official TikTok account for the fast food brand also quipped: “When in Rome”.

One person replied: “To be fair that’s the best cheese ever”.
“That is a little bit of heaven for Italians,” another cheese fan wrote. “Do they have red wine to go with it?”
Someone else said: “I wanna try OMG”.
While another TikTok user tagged a friend and wrote: “TAKE ME NOW”.

Unfortunately, TikToker Amber didn’t get a chance to try the McDonald’s cheese. When asked by a commenter, she replied: “I wanted to but I flew back.”
