People Are Just Finding Out What Flavour Green Skittles Are

Green Skittles. What flavour would you describe them as?

If, like us, you've spent your entire life believing they're lime flavoured, get ready for some unsettling news.

Now, it hasn't always been this way. You might be shocked to learn that in the US, green Skittles originally were lime flavoured - but they changed to apple in 2013.

UK fans, fear not - green Skittles have always been - and still are - lime flavoured.

Many only realised this news this week, when Skittles announced they're actually bringing back lime, eight years on.

"Since when did @Skittles switch the lime flavour to green apple?" Asked one.

While another said: "I thought the green skittles were lime since when have they been green apple?"

"Since when did skittles think it was a good idea to change the green skittle from lime to GREEN APPLE?! I’m still disgusted," added a third.

While a fourth joked: "Skittles: we're changing the green from back to lime.

"Us: never knew it changed."

Some people, however, did know about the change - and were not happy about it at all, with some admitting they haven't eaten a pack of Skittles since the swap.

Now of course, they're pretty happy about it.

One person said: "The best thing that 2021 has brought me is @Skittles changing the green skittle back to lime. No one likes green apple."

And another added: "Best news in a while! I’ve been holding a grudge against @Skittles for 8 years for replacing lime with green apple. Now the healing can begin! You can’t bring me down today!"

And a third wrote: "Thank you for coming around to your senses @Skittles. I will no longer have to meticulously pick out the green ones."

It's believed the new packs - with the old flavour - will be returning some time in October, with a full roll out over the coming months.

Lime fans, rejoice!
