You've been Grating Cheese Backwards All This Time

Every day is a school day on TikTok, with lots of new things to learn about the things we already thought you knew.

Now, one woman on TikTok has shocked the world by posting a video revealing the correct way to use a cheese grater.

Yep, if you hold the block of cheese and the grater suspended above the counter you've been doing it wrong.

Watch the informative video below:

"I was today years old when I learned how to use a handheld cheese grater," she says, before demonstrating how all of us prep grated cheese.

The easier way to grate cheese, which the TikTok shows in the same video, is a lot faster and means you have a much more stable grip on both the block of cheese and the grater.

We have to try this!

The video has received more than 122,000 likes and just under 5,000 shares and we can totally see why.

One person in the comments said: “Now that I know this… I’m like… how was this not obvious?”

Another viewer replied: “I should have known… Lol”.

A third TikTok user said: “So I’ve been cutting my finger knees all these years for NO REASON?!”

While someone else added: “Excuse me no this was not obvious. Why have we never done this before!?!? Mind blown haha”.

One person joked: “Why is no one talking about how massive this block of cheese is”.

And one TikTok commenter quipped: “And they have the audacity to not put instructions with these. I feel bamboozled”.

“My arms thank you for this," one woman joked.

In other TikTok news, people recently discovered the correct way to open an Oxo cubes. If you open your OXO cube by tearing the foil wrapper, peeling it off and crumbling up your cube.

Watch the video below.

Posting the video on TikTok, @megee100 shared the simple trick - and it's fair to say people were shocked.
