Wicked fans have been left seriously excited after an update was shared regarding the second part of the film.

Ever since the first instalment of the movie dropped in cinemas, fans have been longing for news about part two.

In case you've still not watched the first instalment, Wicked was released on 22 November and has blown fans away.

The film - which stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo - tells the story of Glinda and Elphaba's unlikely friendship after they meet at Shiz University, and ultimately reveals how Elphaba became 'wicked'.

The movie has been a huge success, and has even broken the record for the biggest opening weekend of a Broadway adaptation.

Not only are fans loving it, but many have even watched it multiple times, meanwhile the soundtrack has been dominating the charts for weeks.

So when an update was shared about the next instalment, naturally fans went wild.

Posting on social media, the official Wicked account said: "You will be changed. Wicked: For Good, only in theaters November 21, 2025."

And it's fair to say fans went wild over the news, with one person commenting on the post: "I’M STILL RECOVERING FROM PART ONE."

While another said: "Just take my money already, including all the new merch for this."

And a third added: "I have been changed 6 times by part 1 and will probably see it again!"

Others couldn't stop gushing about the new title, with someone else adding: "Just the name already got me choked up."

And one user commented: "This title was the perfect choice, I speak for everyone when I say we will ALL be watching."

The title of the movie corresponds with the same name as one of the songs that is set to be in the second instalment, titled 'For Good'.

Creators decided to split Wicked into two parts to avoid having to cut scenes they wanted to include in the adaptation.

The first movie ended with 'Defying Gravity' which also concludes the first act of the musical version.

"We found it very difficult to get past 'Defying Gravity' without a break," composer Stephen Schwartz explained.

"That song is written specifically to bring a curtain down, and whatever scene followed it without a break just seemed hugely anti-climactic."

With the first film having a run time of two hours and 40 minutes, it certainly makes sense to split the adaptation into two parts.

Wicked: For Good will be released on 21 November 2025.
