A star from the ongoing reality television series Virgin Island has been facing backlash from viewers following his response to a sex therapy session.

Zac, a 28-year-old delivery driver, was announced as part of the Channel 4 line-up earlier this month, among a collection of other contestants - none of whom have ever engaged in sexual intercourse.

The group were sent to a luxury holiday resort in Croatia, where they'd partner up with sex and relationship experts in a bid to overcome their barriers when it comes to intimacy, and work through any underlying sexual trauma they might have.

Ever since the series kicked off, however, Zac has proven quite the controversial character, and as such, he's been accused by viewers of only having signed up to the show to lose his v-card.

During last night's episode (Mon 26 May), he was invited to take part in a totally nude therapy session with one of the show's resident sex experts, Kat Slade.

Throughout her time on the show, Kat vowed to help 'individuals move through physical and emotional barriers to achieve greater intimacy and sexual expression'.

She has spent the series working as a surrogate partner for the virgins on the show, which essentially means she is willing to have sex with one of the contestants if the relationship progresses to a naturally intimate level.

And during the latest session with Zac, Kat explained that the aim was to discuss the importance of touch, with the pair taking off their clothes to discuss his potential physical intimacy boundaries.

It was then that the contestant unexpectedly vocalised his desire to engage in sex with Kat, telling her: "I want to move forward… I want to touch you and be touched by you."

Visibly taken aback by the ill-timed claim, the expert responded by telling him they'd continue working together in other ways, and asked him to 'get dressed'.

Zac then continued, seemingly biting back at his surrogate partner.

"I came in here confident and excited," he declared.

"And I don't know if you're as used to that in this line of work and I don't know if you find that intimidating."

As a result, viewers of show have hit out at Zac, condemning him from seemingly expecting sex from his therapist.

Taking to social media, one viewer hit out: "Zach playing the victim now with what he’s just said to his pal. Another red flag!!"

Another went on: "It took for Zac to go to the equivalent of Virgin Island HR before he realised sex therapists aren’t just prostitutes there to give you sex.

"Even more bold of him to mansplain why Kat was uncomfortable. 'I’m confident and you’re not used to that.' Yeeesh."

A third went on: "Zac is so incredibly entitled. His brain has been quite obviously rotted by porn.

"She's not your sex doll mate. He needs to be removed from this show it's actually skin crawling watching him."
