Secret Lives of Mormon Wives viewers grateful for one feature as real reason Mormons ‘look the same’ is revealed

The eight-episode Hulu series has viewers completely hooked

A new show following the lives of Mormons has hit screens and viewers are totally obsessed - and thankful for one very specific feature.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives debuted earlier this month and viewers are completely hooked.

The eight-episode Hulu show delves into what it's really like to live as a Mormon in today's society.

The addictive series follows the lives of a group of Mormon women, including Taylor Frankie Paul.

Taylor used to be married to her husband Tate Paul and lived with in Draper, Utah.

Just two years ago she opened up about her life with Tate, admitting that the two were headed for divorce and shedding light on their personal lives - she and her spouse had been enjoying ‘soft swinging’.

It’s alleged that Taylor and Tate, as well as others in the Salt Lake City-area, had once been intimate with each another.

During a TikTok live, Taylor said: “No one is innocent, everyone has hooked up with everyone."

Though it's not just the sex lives of Mormons that has people asking questions.

Following the show hitting the air, viewers all seem to have the same issue - that it's hard to keep up with their names.

One person wrote on X: "Wanna say thanks to secret lives of Mormon wives for knowing I need the women’s names (and ages) displayed every time they come on screen #SecretLivesOfMormonWives."

Another said: "Hulu won’t let me skip the intro to the secret lives of Mormon wives and it’s a blessing in disguise because after four episodes, I still don’t know all their names."

A third added: "I can't tell any of the Mormon wives apart because at least 3 of these women have (bought?) the exact same face. I didn't quite realise how many different women were there until they were wearing the shirts with their names on them."

Thank god for the name cards in the corner of the screen, eh?

Despite it being difficult to keep up with who's who, it's still completely engrossing television.

Aside from the name issue, viewers have pointed out that a lot of the Mormon wives look similar.

One former Mormon has previously spoken about why so many members of the church look so alike.

Alyssa Grenfell, who left the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Utah in 2017, explained why.

She said that a lot of Mormons look similar because the gene pool is actually quite small.

She said on YouTube: "Have you ever wondered why some people 'look Mormon'? Mormons really only marry other Mormons.

“You can’t marry in a Mormon temple unless it’s two Mormons getting married, this in large part has made it so that the gene pool is actually very small — especially in a place like Utah, where Mormons fled and went to Utah to be able to practice polygamy in peace.

"Those Mormons were only making babies with other Mormons for a very long time, and the only opportunity to make the gene pool a little larger is to convert people."

That explains it.
