The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star says she was made to feel 'crazy' during a heated altercation with her husband, after claiming he was Ben Affleck's relative.
When a lie gets out of hand, sometimes it's easier to just double down and live the lie as though you know it's the truth.
At least that's what Jen Affleck seems to have done on season two of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
Since the beginning of the show, she has claimed to be the first ever 'Jennifer Affleck', something which simply isn't true unless we're forgetting about Ben Affleck's former wives Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Garner, who might have kept their maiden names publicly but did legally take the Affleck name.

When the show first premiered in 2024, Jen stated that her husband, Zak Affleck, is Ben Affleck's second cousin.
Which, when you look at their surnames, makes a bit of sense - but that's really the only bit that makes sense.
However, during the most recent season, Zak set the record straight about what is actually just a big fat lie.

"He is your second cousin," Jen noted.
"No, he's not," her husband replied, quashing the rumours.
Jen continued: "I mean, that’s what your family told me.
"You’re not going to make me feel stupid when that’s all I’ve been told from your family."

But Zak confirmed: "That is not true.
"I’ve heard that as a joke. No one’s ever claimed to have some kind of relationship with him besides you."
In a private confessional interview on the show, he further elaborated on the story.

Zak said: "I have no idea if I am or am not related to Ben Affleck. And that had been like a running joke in my family. It had never been something serious.
"And so when Jen started telling people that, I did tell her, 'I don't think you should say that anymore. I think that's going to backfire.'"
Jen claimed that her husband was making her feel 'crazy' for telling the world about the fake relation.
To which he replied: "I’m not making you feel crazy. I’m just saying you ran with it when I said not to."

Seemingly missing the point, Jen said: "Of course I ran with that! I’m second cousins with Ben Affleck."
But it seems that following filming for the show, the reality that she isn't related to the actor has started to set in.
In an interview with US Weekly, she noted that she is 'still shocked' and 'confused' that her husband isn't a relation.
