One Married At First Sight UK expert has been forced to intervene after one of the brides claimed to practice 'celibacy'.

Now, it's clear that the experts this year - Mel Schilling, Paul C Brunson and Charlene Douglas - have been far from shy when it comes to sharing a piece of their minds to the brides and grooms on the show.

Clearly not afraid to call something out when it needs to be, Paul has recently been praised for his response to Sacha and Ross' mishandling of the phrase 'celibacy'.

Now, in case you didn't know, to be celibate is when a person abstains from sexual activity or remains unmarried, usually for religious reasons.

This is something that Sacha says she practices, prompting Paul to query whether she got the right term when opening up about her current love life situation.

Speaking on MAFS UK, Sacha declared: "I have traditional values so I’ve decided to go celibate until I meet the one, I will not settle for anyone that isn’t my husband.

"It’s something that I do when I’m ready to be serious about someone and I don’t just want to give them something that I consider to be really precious."

However, Paul later corrected Sacha - explaining that the term she was actually looking for was 'abstinence' which usually refers to a temporary period of not having sex, often as a birth control method or until marriage.

Obviously, people can practise their versions of abstinence in their own ways.

Channel 4 viewers have since rushed to Reddit to share their excitement over Paul finally nipping the ordeal in the bud 'straight away'.

One Reddit user gushed: "PAUL IS ON FIRE! Finally someone has corrected her understanding of the word celibacy."

"I don't ever want to hear the word 'celibate' on this show again," praised a second. "Thank you Paul for explaining it to her."

"Paul explaining the difference between celibacy and abstinence finally," penned a third.

A fourth echoed: "Sooo glad Paul finally corrected Brummie lass on her 'celibacy' - it’s abstinence!"

"Finally, someone telling her what celibacy means," exclaimed a fifth while a sixth piped up: "He nipped that in the bud straight away!"

Another chimed in: "THANK GOD the experts corrected Sacha and told her she's practicing abstinence, not celibacy."

And a final Reddit user added: "I'm tired of hearing about it. Like why is that the main focus of their relationship?"

Married at First Sight UK airs every Monday to Thursday at 9pm on E4.
