MAFS UK viewers in disbelief after spotting moment 'groom makes mother-in-law cry' ahead of next episode

The 2024 series of Married At First Sight UK has certainly lived up to its chaos-littered reputation, and it looks as though tonight's episode is set to bring viewers even more head-spinning drama.

In fact, a preview of the incoming instalment appears to show one of this year's grooms - Nathan Campbell - reducing his new mother-in-law to tears following an excruciating confrontation over her cooking.

For those out of the loop with recent goings on, 24-year-old engineer Nathan has been paired up with 27-year-old office manager Lacey Martin since the show returned to screens last month.

And - compared to many other couples - their romance has remained pretty smooth-sailing.

In fact, ever since striking up a close-knit friendship instantly upon meeting one another, their chemistry has been skyrocketing, much to the delight of viewers.

It isn't just their bond and trust in one another that has fans going all gooey inside, however, but their relationship values in general.

Last week, a mass of praise was heaped onto Nathan after he rightfully called out controversial co-star Adam for making a series of comments about his bride Polly's appearance, which many viewers have branded misogynistic.

Sadly, however, following his run in viewers' good books, Nathan is seemingly on track to set the cat among the pigeons tonight, after visiting Lacey's mother's house for the first time.

In the teaser, the show's narrator explains: "The experiment's original couples face tough questions from their nearest and dearest."

The video goes on to see Nathan's wife's mother asking him: "Do you love Lacey? What do you see happening? You don't want anyone else?

"Look at me in the eyes and say, 'I want it to work with Lacey'."

A visibly uncomfortable Nathan is later seen sitting down the dinner with Lacey and her mum, laughing 'That's awful' when the camera pans to a meal the mother has whipped up for him.

"You've upset me now," she tells him before bursting into tears, after which he admits to viewers in a confessional: "I don't think her mum took that too well, to be fair. Doghouse."

How awkward!

And by the sounds of things, it wasn't just Team Tyla that were left cringing in our seats when last night's episode came to its agonising conclusion.

Taking to social media, countless MAFS UK fans of the hit reality dating experiment have expressed their amusement at Nathan's off-the-cuff culinary remark.

"Not Nathan calling his MIL’s food s**t. I’m dead", one laughed.

Another teased: "Nathan calling his mother in laws food awful has buckled me"

"Hahahha that sneak peak of tomorrow," a third continued. "Did nathan just say Laceys mums food was awful so she started crying?"

A fourth jibed: "not lacey’s mum in tears - what the hell did nathan do??? i’m finished. i hope he wasn’t dissing her food you know."

"Nathan saying the mums food is Awful IM DEAD," another went on.

A fifth continued: "Nathan calling his MIL’s cooking s**t - I bloody love him."
