After one contestant of Married at First Sight UK appears to have sensationally walked off the show, they've made reference to the shock exit on social media.

Everyone's favourite chaotic reality show is back and there's drama a-plenty.

I mean, how could there not be? Meeting someone for the first time and getting married to them in the same breath isn't exactly a walk in the park, is it?

But while we're all used to a good dose of edge of your seat drama from MAFS, it does seem as though it's been ramped up a notch this series.

Love experts 'locked in' 30-year-old Charlie with 31-year-old Eve - and while things seemed sweet to begin with, it quickly emerged that they butted heads on basically everything.

Scenes filmed during their honeymoon in Mexico showed non-stop arguments.

In one scene, Eve refused to sleep in their shared accommodation despite having been intimate with each other a 'few times which became a subject of contention between the pair.

Further arguments ensued and an exasperated Charlie said she was quitting the show, citing Eve 'shutting down'.

Poking fun at the situation, Charlie uploaded a snap to Instagram with the caption: "On the plus side, Mexico was beautiful, every cloud and all that," alongside a laughing emoji.

During the episode, Eve defended walking away by saying: "I took myself out of the situation."

Charlie retorted: "You don't respect anything I say or do!"

An incensed Eve then added: "Are you saying I don't respect you?"

Cue more drama, as Eve walked away again and said: "I'm not listening to this!"

Charlie had officially had enough, shouting after her: "I'll be leaving the experiment now.

"They'll be no moving in together, no apartments, nothing - Goodbye!"

"I'll go and enjoy my evening - alone.

"Like I have done all f*****g honeymoon."

The episode then ended on a mighty cliffhanger, leaving us all wondering whether Charlie will really take the closest exit, or hang around and try to work things out with her wife.

The arguments that plague the couple are seemingly at odds with their intimacy.

Earlier scenes showed Charlie admitting they'd had sex 'a few times' less than 24 hours after exchanging vows.

She told the cameras: "It was just so natural and... yeah, clearly I'm speechless!"

Married at First Sight airs every Monday to Thursday at 9.00pm on E4.
