Celebrity Big Brother’s Lauren Simon slammed for 'insufferable' behaviour in resurfaced First Dates clip

It's been just over a week since Celebrity Big Brother returned to our screens, and already one particular housemate seems to be rubbing people up the wrong way.

Lauren Simon - star of The Real Housewives of Cheshire - walked into the infamous ITV house refusing to take any prisoners.

Speaking to hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best during the premiere last week, the 51-year-old reality star made some very X-rated, and somewhat unexpected remarks - claiming she's 'really good at' sex - before spending the week making numerous controversial statements on the show.

She and fellow housemate Louis Walsh were punished for discussing nominations - something Lauren was forced to apologise for in a cringe-worthy speech - before she became embroiled in a spat with television presenter Zeze Millz.

This isn't the first time that mother-of-two Lauren has caused a stir with the public, however.

Last year, during an appearance on Celebrity First Dates, she had viewers at home suffering second-hand embarrassment, after she was shocked that her date had no idea who she was.

In the 2023 clip - which has once again gone viral this week following her appearance on Big Brother - Lauren is introduced to her suitor Charles by maitre'd Fred Sirieix.

"You look absolutely stunning!" he politely tells her. "Where are you from?"

"I grew up in Cheshire," Lauren replies, beaming, before Charles goes on to ask her what she does for a living.

"I think you know what I do," she teases in the awkward exchange.

A visibly-shocked Charles then admits: "No, I have no idea! Why? Why would I have guessed? There's a story there, right?"

Sipping on her drink, the embarrassed star refuses to divulge until later in the evening, when her date asks her again what she does for work.

"I'm a stripper," she initially jibes. "I'm obviously not a stripper."

After Charles awkwardly asks her how much she's had to drink, Lauren hits back: "I work in television on The Real Housewives of Cheshire, which is highly publicised in Manchester, so I assume you would have known."

And with the awkward video now trending on social media again, many viewers have shared their thoughts.

"I’m really shocked at how horrible Lauren Simon was in that clip from First Dates," one penned on X.

Another went on: "If you want a fun viewing, watch Lauren Simon on First Dates and how offended she was that her date didn’t know who she was (I too didn’t know either) #CBBUK."

"Anytime I see Lauren Simon, I remember her on First Dates being upset that her date didn’t know who she was lmao #CBBUK," added a third.

When approached by TYLA, a rep for Lauren Simon did not give comment.
