I'm A Celeb's Danny Jones has huge disaster minutes after being crowned King of the Jungle

A chaos-fuelled video of Danny with his crown and sceptre is now doing the rounds online

The title of 'King/Queen of the Jungle' is a very prestigious honour, bestowed on only the most charming of I'm A Celebrity winners.

Apparently, however, after being crowned the 2024 successor during last night's live finale (8 Dec), it all become too much for McFly's Danny Jones, and just minutes after bagging the reality TV accolade, he made a terrible mistake...

The much-loved musician had remained a firm favourite with fans since the very first episode of the series landed last month, with Danny instantly winning viewers over by striking up a sweet friendship with boxing promoter Barry McGuigan.

From then on, we fell more and more in love with the singer - especially after he lifted the lid on his ongoing battle with anxiety, and revealed that he and his former bandmates used to shower together after shows.

By the end of the series - with nine of his campmates having gotten the chop and Reverend Richard Coles having landed in third place - it was between Danny and 'Wagatha Christie' icon Coleen Rooney for the win.

And after what felt like a lifetime, ITV presenters Ant and Dec finally revealed that we had a new 'King!' of the jungle, handing a crown and spectre over to Danny.

"I can’t even talk. It feels surreal!" he told viewers, becoming emotional.

He then addressed viewers, sharing: "Thank you from the bottom of my heart, I gave my all in there and it’s a lovely feeling to be liked!"

It has only now come to light, however, that s**t hit the fan behind the scenes just minutes after Danny's victory, with the popstar accidentally breaking the wooden sceptre that's been part of the show for the last 22 years.

In a video which has since gone viral on social media after being uploaded to Instagram, the father-of-one could be seen attempting to mend the top of the colossal staff, getting caught out by former IAC winner Joel Dommett, the host of the spin-off show Unpacked.

"Oh no Danny! What have you done?" comedian Joel asks him in the clip, before the musician replied: "Has anyone got any glue?"

Joel also captioned the video: "Uh oh. He only had it for 39 seconds @dannyjonesofficial".

The clip has since racked up hundreds of comments and likes, with many heaping praise onto Danny for his success in the series.

Speaking via video link on ITV's Lorraine this morning, he admitted he never thought the public would get behind him in the way they did - especially being that his bandmates Dougie Poynter and Tom Fletcher's wife Giovanna had already won the show in the past.

"I feel overwhelmed and I was trying to explain it’s like when people buy tickets to your show," he admitted.

"I’m always amazed by it because it’s like ‘Wow this many people have paid to see me’.

"And the fact that so many people voted for me to be king, I am shocked and I will forever be thankful."

Danny then added: "I feel like I’ve connected with the UK and everyone at home in a different way than usual. When they are voting for me for just being myself it feels really rewarding so thank you everyone so much."
