It's always lovely when our favourite celebrities from our favourite shows and movies meet up in real-life.

It's also clear that there's, arguably, no fandom more obsessed with its characters than the Harry Potter one.

And now, fans of the Wizarding World have been left in tears after two of the film franchise's big stars have reunited with a sweet nod to an annoying plot detail.

Now, for many us, we all grew up alongside Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson et al. and while we all may argue on what film out of the franchise's eight, there's one flick that changed the game - Harry Potter and the Goblet Of Fire.

Released in 2005, the movie saw all the characters grow up a little more and start to get involved in romantic entanglements.

The trio wowed during the Yule Ball, one of the highlights of the Triwizard Tournament, with Harry attending alongside Parvati, while Ron attended with her sister, Padma.

And, of course, Hermione rocked up to the occasion with Viktor Krum.

Nearly two decades later, Rupert and the actor who played Padma Patil, Afshan Azad-Kazi, have finally reunited once again at the London Olympia Exhibition Centre.

In the film, Padma was far less enthusiastic as having Ron as a date for the Yule Ball than her sister.

Understandable, considering he refused to dance with her and instead spent the evening seething with jealousy over Hermione's date with Viktor.

Afshan took to Instagram to share before-and-after pics of herself and her co-star, captioning the post: "Padma & Ron reunited after 20+ years. Oh how parenthood has changed us all."

Afshan then joked: "ps He’s still not asked me to dance."

Fans have since rushed to the comments to share their excitement over the surprise reunion, with one Instagram user writing: "HOW HAS IT BEEN 20 YEARS I FEEL SO OLD."

"You guys 100% carried my childhood ily," beamed a second.

A third chirped: "Quite adorable, the two of you!"

While a fourth praised: "I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS."

"Come on Weasley! Get to the dance floor!" joked someone else.

Another added: "Cutest thing on internet rn."

And a final Instagram user gushed: "This made me tear up - SO proud of who both of you have become and thank you for all the magic you gave us when we were kids."

Oh, how time flies!
