Warning: This article contains spoilers for Euphoria Season Three
Euphoria fans have mixed feelings about the fate of Angus Cloud's character Fezco, as it was finally revealed in the new season.
In July 2023, the heartbreaking news broke that Cloud had tragically died of an accidental drug overdose, aged just 25 years old.
He rose to fame on the HBO TV show as fan-favourite character Fezco, with viewers especially loving his connection with Lexi Howard (Maude Apatow).
But their romance was cut short at the end of season two, when a police raid of the drug dealer's house resulted in his little brother Ashtray's death and Fez's arrest.
Since then, fans have been wondering what kind of ending the writers had in store for the character - and the one they went for has surprised people.
The third season, which dropped its first episode yesterday in the US (13 April) and today in the UK, sees the characters after a five-year time jump.

Rue (Zendaya) goes to visit Lexie, where they have a conversation about Fezco. She tells Lexie to call him, before revealing he's serving thirty years in prison.
“He misses you. Just pick up the phone and call him, it’s not like he’s going anywhere. He’s in prison for thirty years," Rue says during the episode.
The creative decision has sparked a divide among fans, with some furious over the ending that was decided upon.
One X user penned: "Fez being alive and still asking about Lexie, but 30 YEARS IN PRISON WTF #Euphoria."
While a second questioned: "Euphoria writer (s).... really? Fez in prison 30 yrs. (esp what happened in real life & S3) #Euphoria."
And a third wrote, "Fez in prison for 30 years?? And Lexi doesn’t want to talk to him? I don’t like this, they should have given him a more proper ending #Euphoria."
A fourth angrily penned: "Can y'all let him rest? Like, okay, we get it, but couldn’t y’all just give him a happy ending? Or something?"
Fezco's fate in Euphoria's third season has sparked fury among some fans (HBO) Meanwhile, a fifth brutally wrote: "Thirty years is such a lazy, disrespectful way to handle his exit. It feels like they just gave up on finding a meaningful way to honor the character. This is bottom-tier writing and a total slap in the face to the fans."
And others chimed in with: "This just ruined my whole mood… Fezco deserved better," and "30 years? Fez was too smart for this sloppy s***. Should’ve just killed him off and let Angus rest in peace."
However, not everyone was in agreement, and some fans felt it was a good decision.
One person wrote on social media: "Honoring Angus Cloud without recasting, that's the right call."
While a second admitted: "Writing him into a 30-year sentence feels like a heavy way to say goodbye, but I'm glad they didn't kill the character off. Fezco was the soul of the show. Long live Angus Cloud."
And a third pointed out: "His character got arrested at the end of season 2, like I don’t get what the fans mean?"

I kept him alive, and the character has got a great arc. I think he’d be very proud of it."
He added, “I loved Angus very deeply, and I fought very hard to keep him clean while he was here. I think when he passed away, it made me sort of step back and go, what is the story I want to tell, what is it I want to say? What matters in life?”
As for any mention of Fezco in future episodes, we'll have to wait and see...
