After a long night of big-name achievements and momentous accolades, the Best Actress award has finally been presented at this year's Academy Awards.

And despite colossal competition, the winner has now been announced as Poor Things star Emma Stone.

The actress was forced to address her wardrobe malfunction.

As the visibly shocked red-head attempted to take to the stage to accept her award, however, disaster seemingly struck when her mint green gown appeared to split down the back.

Mother-of-one Emma admitted to the wardrobe malfunction whilst accepting her trophy.

Spinning around to show off the back of her lavish dress, she teased, "My dress is broken... I think it happened during 'I'm Just Ken'," referencing close friend and Barbie actor Ryan Gosling's rendition from earlier in the evening.

Emma, 35, was up against the likes of Carey Mulligan, Annette Bening and newbies Lily Gladstone - who would have been the first ever indigenous-American to win the award - and Sandra Huller in her big name category.
