Strictly star Bobby Brazier has shared his opinions about fellow co-star Amanda Abbington leaving the BBC show.
In a statement about her departure which she put out to the world this morning, she wrote: “It was an absolute joy working with my fellow contestants, they are a beautiful, hardworking and talented group of people who I love and who I will miss seeing every Friday and Saturday and competing alongside.
"I want to thank the incredible Production team and everyone on Strictly who looked after me and who are so kind and caring.
“It’s a wonderful bunch of people and I’ll miss all of them.
"I’m so sad that I am unable to go any further. Thank you to everyone who voted and who sent wonderful messages and inspiring support."
Presenter Christine Lampard said: “Amanda Abbington has of course had to step away, there’s always something every year isn’t it, it’s just unfortunate because you go in wanting to be there for as long as possible.”
Dianne said: “We’re going to miss her a lot in the competition.’
Bobby joined in, saying: “I’m still going to go to her house and have dinner, she’s lovely but I’m glad she’s doing what she wants.”
Her dancing partner, Giovanni Pernice, shared a loving statement on Instagram alongside a picture of the pair in Christmas jumpers and pyjamas, saying: “Amanda .. I am so sad we can’t continue but I am proud of what we achieved and I am sending you so much love.”
On the show that aired on Saturday night, viewers were told that Amanda couldn’t make the show for ‘medical reasons’, and hoped she would be back in the competition the following week.
However, a spokesperson from the show released an official statement saying: “Amanda Abbington is unable to continue in Strictly Come Dancing and has decided to withdraw from the competition.
“The show wishes her all the best for the future.”
