Viewers have been left reeling following the third episode of Netflix's latest true-crime docuseries.

In a spectacular follow up to the series Worst Roommate Ever, the streaming giant dropped a harrowing spin-off - and it's impossible to not get hooked.

Following the stories of people who's lives were forever changed by chance encounters that led to romance, the four episode docuseries gets wilder by the minute.

After finishing the first episode - which centres on the chilling case of Benjamin Foster - it's easy to assume we've seen the worst of it.

Then comes episode three and viewers have been left stunned beyond words.

The third episode of Worst Ex Ever, 'Killing For Custody', follows the story of Rosa Hill and her husband, Eric Hill.

The two, who were seemingly happy in the beginning of their relationship, welcomed a daughter in 2006 but arguments and manipulation at the hands of Rosa led to an acrimonious split in 2007.

Rosa would prevent Eric from seeing their child, which led to him suing for custody.

She went so far to falsely allege Eric had been abusing their daughter. Once the lies unfolded, Eric was granted full custody by the courts.

Eric, who was living with his grandmother Sally Hill, could never have foretold what would happen next.

In a horrifying turn of events, Rosa and her mother, Mei Li, hatched a plan to secure custody and broke into Sally's home - tasing her, and eventually strangling her to death.

They then wrapped her body in tarp and left her in a bin in the shed.

When Eric returned home with his little girl, Rosa pulled a gun out on him.

Sally's boyfriend, 91-year-old Lester Rowe, noticed something was amiss after she missed their 4pm phone call.

The alarm was raised, and the police eventually arrived - and had no idea who to blame due to the sheer amount of blood splatter at the scene.

Viewers have been left speechless following the emotional episode that takes on even more twists and turns.

One person wrote on X: "Worst Ex Ever is wild, Rosa and Mei are insane for thinking they’d get full custody after killing grandma Sally. Wow."

Another said: "Eric Hill episode had me crying. Sally Hill was 91 and definitely didn’t deserve that."

A third added: "The part about Lester being heartbroken about Sally had me bawling."

In the documentary, Eric noted: "Lester definitely loved Sally, and when she died, he was crushed.”

Sally's son, Gregory, added: "I’m just always grateful that they found each other and had that last 11 years of their lives together."

Worst Roommate Ever is available to stream on Netflix now.
