Netflix viewers are binging chilling murder mystery series with almost perfect Rotten Tomatoes score

For those who are looking for a brand new box-set to binge their way through this weekend, Netflix viewers are apparently obsessed with a chilling new crime drama - and they couldn't recommend it enough.

This year so far, streaming service users have had their pick of the bunch when it comes to limited series thrillers.

In the last week alone, Netflix viewers have claimed they're DESPERATE for a second series of true-crime documentary Homicide: New York - despite the show only having landed earlier this week - while fans of The Gentlemen have been left on the edge of their seats dubbing the edgy action-drama a '10/10'.

And in the last 24 hours alone, hundreds of telly-lovers have taken to social media to gush over a brand new addition to the service, which has already received an impressive 91% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The five-series show first aired on ITV back in 2015, and boasted a HUGE cast of British acting favourites, including BAFTA-nominee Nicola Walker and much-loved comedian, Sanjeev Bhaskar.

We are, of course, talking about Unforgotten, in which the duo star as police officer partners, DCI Cassie Stuart and DI Sunny Khan, who together solve harrowing cold cases of disappearance and murder.

In each series of the critically-acclaimed show, Cassie and Sunny confront a haunting new case, whereby a collection of seemingly unconnected characters are revealed to have had a spine-tingling prior connection to the victim, with the results of the investigation exposing their crimes.

The crime-drama series has received huge praise from viewers.

And - as if that heart-stopping plot hasn't piqued your interest already - we hope that the A-list roster of either victim or suspect guest stars will make you want to sink your teeth into his unnerving hit.

In the first series - which centres on the 1979 disappearance of 17-year-old James 'Jimmy' Sullivan after his remains are recovered from a demolition site - stars Rizzle Kicks musician Harley Alexander-Sule as the late victim, Golden Globe-winner Tom Courtenay, Bridget Jones star Ruth Sheen and Titanic actor Bernard Hill as some of the suspects.

Though the fifth and final series of Unforgotten hasn't yet been uploaded to Netflix, if the first four instalments are anything to go by, you should catch-up with it on the ITV.

And according to viewers, you won't regret it!

Taking to social media this week, one penned: "Been re-watching Unforgotten on Netflix purely for performances from Sanjeev Bhaskar & Nicola Walker. Quite brilliant acting from both of them separately and as a pair.

The series features several big-name guest stars.

"Walker also gives an acting masterclass in another cop series 'Annika' if you've not seen it."

Another went on: "Late too this, binged S1 last night, and just after bingeing S2 tonight, a combination of great storytelling and compelling characters, now S3 #Unforgotten #Netflix."

A third asked: "Any recommendations for series on Netflix? I binge watched Unforgotten last week."
