Netflix viewers have been left questioning their sanity after watching the latest true crime documentary from the streaming giant.

There's been no shortage of true life gems to dig into lately, including the jaw dropping Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult and The Footballer, His Wife, and the Crash.

Every time we watch a Netflix documentary we're left scratching our heads, wondering how they'll ever one-up their last offering and have us gripped once again.

Despite this, they manage to do it every time.

The latest documentary shocking viewers is none other than How to Rob a Bank.

Watch the trailer here:

How to Rob a Bank tells the extraordinary story of Scott Scurlock, who gained the moniker 'The Hollywood Bandit'.

He was involved in a huge number of high-profile, film-worthy bank robberies around Seattle during the 1990s.

He propelled to notoriety not only for pulling off 19 high stakes heists, but for the manner in which he did them.

He was known for using Hollywood-quality make-up and disguises in order to avoid rousing suspicion when first walking into the bank, as well as evading justice.

In 1992 alone, Scurlock robbed six banks - without any accomplices.

By the time 1995 rolled around, he had stolen almost $1 million.

At some point during his crime career, Scurlock enlisted the help of another man - Steve Meyers - who would keep lookout.

Law enforcement became increasingly desperate to catch Scurlock, and not realising he had help from another man, offered a $50,000 reward for help towards catching him.

Of course, due to the incredible makeup and disguises, the reward posters that were displayed looked nothing like Scurlock.

Now that viewers have had the chance to watch the documentary and acquaint themselves with Scurlock's incredible mastermind when it comes to bank heists, they can't believe what they've seen.

At the time of writing, it holds a perfect critic's score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

John Serba noted for Decider: "How to Rob a Bank’s ability to explore a number of compelling ideas in a tense, economic fashion renders it one of the best documentaries in recent memory."

And viewers have fled to social media to share their own thoughts.

One person wrote: "How to rob a bank on Netflix is really really good. One of them “how the hell is this real” stories."

Another said: "How to rob a bank on Netflix is crazy. He was low key a genius."

While a third chimed: "How to rob a bank on Netflix was so good.. I know he was wrong but I felt bad for him at the end."

How to Rob a Bank is available to stream on Netflix now.
