People have been left utterly horrified after learning where Ed Gein is buried following the release of the new controversial series all about his bloody murders.
Ryan Murphy's latest instalment of his Monsters series dropped last week and, judging by just how twisted his explorations into Jeffrey Dahmer and the Menendez brothers are, true crime addicts were eagerly anticipating how the story of the Butcher of Plainfield would unfold.
The eight-parter follows Gein, a serial killer and grave robber who hailed from Wisconsin, as he kills and desecrates the bodies of multiple women in the 1950s, inspiring numerous horror films for decades to come, including The Silence of the Lambs, Psycho, and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
Gein's crimes have gone down in history for their gory nature, which saw him mutilate and disect the bodies of his victims and use them to create furniture, including lampshades made out of human skin and bowls made out of skulls.
He was only actually convicted of two murders, which doesn't technically classify him as a 'serial killer' as, to be considered one, an individual must have murdered three or more people in separate events, with a significant period of time, known as a 'cooling-off period' between each murder.
But, as we say, Gein confessed to murdering two women, Mary Hogan and Bernice Worden.
Charlie Hunnam stars as the Butcher of Plainsfield, Ed Gein, in the new Monster series (Netflix) Though he was suspected of other deaths, including that of his brother, no further crimes were proven.
Declared legally insane, he was institutionalised instead of imprisoned, spending the rest of his life in mental hospitals until his death from lung cancer in 1984 at the age of 77.
Now, Netflix viewers were already stunned after seeing what the characters from the show actually looked like in real life, along with the extremely gory plot, but it was the discovery of where the heinous murderer's body lies that really sent chills down people's spines.

This, by the way, was the same cemetery he grave robbed from in life, as the Gein family plot is located just behind the grave of Eleanor Adams, a grave that Gein stole from and remains empty to this day.
His original gravestone became a target for souvenir hunters and was stolen in 2000, and while it was recovered in 2001, it is currently stored at the Waushara County Sheriff's Department.

After making the discovery, one social media user seethed: "Buried at the same cemetery as the victim is crazy."
"I think it’s still mad he got buried next to someone he dug up," hit out another.
Monster: The Ed Gein Story is currently available to stream on Netflix.
