David and Victoria Beckham's wedding speech had hilarious X-rated joke about the Spice Girls

The whole room erupted into laughter

We all know that weddings are a place of free-flowing booze, exciting reunions and some dodgy best man speeches.

Well, this was definitely the case for David and Victoria Beckham's wedding back in the 90s, which saw Manchester United icon Gary Neville make an X-rated joke about the Spice Girls.

Neville was best man on the big day back which took place shortly after Man U had triumphed after completing a historic Treble winning the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League - something he clearly used for inspo with his wedding speech. Have a look:

In the speech, a fresh-faced Neville can be heard saying: "We've got some distinguished guests present ladies and gentlemen..."

The fellow footy star continued: "David said the Spice Girls requested the Bayern Munich team be present today and David was puzzled at this request and asked why."

Neville, holding back a particularly cheeky grin, finished up: "He said that the Spice Girls replied that they'd love to meet any men that can stay on top for 90 minutes and still come second."

Ba dum tss.

The whole room filled with a chorus of chuckles before the clip cut to Beckham howling with laughter.

A young Gary Neville took to the stand to deliver an X-rated joke about the Spice Girls during Posh and Becks' 90s wedding.

It's seems the comedy hasn't aged one bit since the wedding date back in 1999 given that fans to this day still find the whole thing hilarious.

One viewer commented: "Dying at Gary Neville’s speech at Beckham’s wedding."

"Seen the first two episodes so far," quipped a second. "Struggle to imagine there could be a better scene than Gary Neville’s best man speech."

A third chimed in: "Gary Neville’s best man speech at Beckham’s wedding is absolutely priceless."

The eight-part Netflix docu-series Beckham dropped on the streaming platform earlier this month (4 October), delving into the lives of David and Victoria and seeing them open up about a whole bunch of difficulties they've faced in their relationship - including the alleged 'affair' David had with former glamour model, Rebecca Loos.

Becks seemed to find it hilarious.

The couple have said that the media attention at the time was the 'hardest period' for both of them.

A synopsis for the doc reads: "Beckham, a four-part documentary series, tells the inside story of a global football star and cultural icon.

"David Beckham is one of the most known names on the planet, yet few people know who he really is. From his humble working-class beginnings in east London, his drive and determination to win, and the battle to find balance between ambition, love and family, David’s story is one of immense ups and downs.

"The series takes you on that rollercoaster and builds a surprising, personal and definitive story of one of the most recognisable and scrutinised athletes of all time.

"The result is an intimate portrait of a man as well as a chronicle of late-modern sports and celebrity culture."

Beckham is available to stream on Netflix now.
