Taylor Swift has been known to leave a trail of Easter eggs for her fans every time a new album drops, and this time is no different.
News of her latest release came unexpectedly, as she sat down on boyfriend Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast, which he hosts with his brother Jason.
She left Swifties screaming, crying, and throwing up as she announced her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, before later following this bombshell up with several others, including the artwork reveal.
Of course, it was only a matter of time before people began unpacking the news, delving into every detail in an attempt to pick up on any clues she may have left us.

Some picked up on the spelling of one of her forthcoming tracks, ‘Cancelled’, noting how it deviated from the US spelling with one L.
"She spelled 'Canceled' with two 'Ls' because this is the British way of spelling it," content creator Jordan Fairchild theorised.
The social media star continued: "That means that whoever this is about is a British person.

"There are two people in mind that I can think of that this could be about, but I'm interested to see who you [her followers] think it's about."
In the comments, two of Swift’s UK-born exes cropped up - The 1975's Matty Healy and actor Joe Alwyn.
But there’s potentially more.
Colour expert Amy Moorea Wong reckons there’s something in the colour scheme of the album artwork, too, noting the bold combo of teal and orange and what they symbolise.

These colours happen to be opposites on the colour wheel, supposedly representing this duality between her theatrical stage life and her complex personal life.
"Orange and teal naturally complement each other," Wong told Livingetc.com.

"Pairing them clashes the heat and the cool, orange’s brilliance amplifying teal’s watery depths, while teal tempers orange’s exuberance with timeless poise."

Moorea Wong says this contrast in design ‘creates a lively push-and-pull that thoughtfully ignites a space, without everything falling into chaos’.
Fans believe orange was also set to be the colour scheme of Swift’s lost album Karma, which was supposedly scrapped as the singer faced media scrutiny.
"Fiery, rich orange evokes heat and energy, bringing a glowing warmth and a heady intensity," Moorea Wong said.
"It's a colour that instantly pulls the eye and demands attention, bringing drama as well as indulgence."

Teal, meanwhile, ‘zips with electricity, combining the tranquillity of blue and the invigorating freshness of green’.
