Meghan Trainor’s lyric change has divided opinions following her opening up about her experience using Mounjaro for weight loss.

Like many other celebrities, Trainor has also been candid about losing weight via medical intervention.

The 31-year-old 'All About That Bass' singer revealed all on Instagram where she shared she had been using the Type 2 diabetes and weight loss management drug in a bid to lose weight.

She said that she was using Mounjaro and did so because of her two children, as she wanted to become a healthier version of herself for their sake.

Her social media post shared a selfie of herself, while she shouted out a recent win.

"Feeling so honoured to be recognised by @billboard Women in Music as a Hitmaker - what a dream!" Meghan wrote.

"But it’s a little disheartening that so many of the questions (and comments) were focused on my body instead of my music, my passion, or the decade of hard work that got me here.

"This is what it’s like to be a woman in the music industry."

Meghan, who shares sons Riley, four, and Barry, 21 months, with Spy Kids actor Daryl Sabara, added of her body positivity: "No, I don’t look like I did 10 years ago. I’ve been on a journey to be the healthiest, strongest version of myself for my kids and for me.

"I’ve worked with a dietician, made huge lifestyle changes, started exercising with a trainer, and yes, I used science and support (shoutout to Mounjaro!) to help me after my 2nd pregnancy."

The singer added: "And I’m so glad I did because I feel great. Here’s to celebrating talent, growth, and the power of putting yourself first. Let’s keep shifting the convo to what REALLY matters. With love."

With that, she went on to change the notable line in her All About That Bass song at iHeartRadio’s Wango Tango, from ‘It’s pretty clear, I ain’t no size two’ to ‘it’s pretty clear, I got some new boobs’, referencing perhaps a boob job?

Posting a video in partnership with Motiva USA, she has since admitted to going under the knife to help her to love herself, writing: “I've always struggled with loving my boobs before I got them done. They were never even and were always sagging my whole life.”

Because of this, the weight loss drug, song lyric change, and the fact that her song was originally meant to be a body positivity anthem for plus size women all over the world, people were torn.

“I can only imagine how hard it would be for people who connected with her early in her career because she was body positive to see her succumb to Ozempic,” said one person online.

Another wrote: “As someone who was not a size 2 when I first heard this song when I was like 13, for her to change the lyrics just feels hypocritical to me? Like I’m glad she feels good in her body and you know taking ozempic helped her do that but like…man idk.”

However, others are happy for her and wish her well in her journey to losing weight.

One person wrote: “I think it’s great that Meghan put her health first. She was diagnosed with gestational diabetes during her pregnancy so she kinda had to lose weight… I feel that Meghan was and continues to be confident in whichever shape her body is in.”

Another said: “I think she looks great! Good for her for doing whatever the hell she wants to do!”

Type 2 diabetes drug, Mounjaro, has been approved to aid weight loss along with Ozempic.

The pair are used to treat type 2 diabetes and are not a legitimate weight-loss management drug, which is also not FDA approved for this use.

But when taken without diabetes, it works to enhance insulin secretion but lowers glucagon secretion to lower a person’s blood sugar levels and also limits people’s appetite.
