Zendaya and Tom Holland fans have incredible theory about his name change once they’re married

After sparking some engagement rumours at the Golden Globes this weekend, fans have been speculating on what surname Zendaya and Tom Holland would opt for if they were to tie the knot.

The it-couple, Zendaya, 28, and Tom, also 28, were publicly confirmed to be in a relationship in 2021, after meeting on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017.

After being heralded as couple goals instantly, the two have shared sweet photos of each other across social media and sang one another's praises in interviews, but largely keep their relationship private.

In an interview with GQ in 2021, Zendaya reflected on public scrutiny of their relationship from the press, sharing: "The equal sentiment [we both share] is just that when you really love and care about somebody, some moments or things, you wish were your own... I think loving someone is a sacred thing and a special thing and something that you want to deal with and go through and experience and enjoy amongst the two people that love each other."

So it was a huge deal when Zendaya sported a beautiful big ring on that finger at the Golden Globes on Sunday (5 January).

Gossip platform Deux Moi reported: "The ring on Zendaya's hand isn't Bulgari like the rest of her jewellery is.

"This is a $200,000+ engagement ring from Jessica McCormack, a London based jeweller."

It's worth noting that neither celeb has confirmed these rumours.

Nevertheless, many fans firmly believe the two intend to tie the knot, and some have even been considering which surname the pair would opt for after exchanging vows.

One content creator @cassiesbookss joked on Instagram: "So if Tom Holland and Zendaya are engaged, if they get married will he take her last name and just become Tom?"

Poking fun at the fact Zendaya goes by just her first name, and joking that she has no surname for Tom to take, the joke appeared to go over many people's heads.

One user commented: "His last name would be coleman since zendaya’s last name is coleman."

Another said: "Zendaya does have a last name she just doesn't use it much."

A third said: "These comments are missing the joke."

While a fourth added: "I vote for Zendaya and Mr.Zendaya."

As for why Tom wasn't in attendance alongside Zendaya at the Golden Globes, the actor recently opened up to Men's Health about his choice not to walk the red carpet with her very often.

He said: "Because it’s not my moment, it’s her moment, and if we go together, it’s about us."
