Everything we know about Victoria Beckham and Nicola Peltz wedding dress ‘clash’ amid ‘family feud’

Weddings are wonderful, but they can also be a huge source of stress

Your wedding day is supposed to be one of the happiest days of your life, but for Nicola Peltz it may have been a stressful one, if sources are correct.

A 'feud' between Nicola and Victoria Beckham has been rumbling on for months, with Nicola's husband Brooklyn Beckham missing out on many major family occasions. Most notable was Brooklyn and Nicola's absence from David Beckham's big 50th birthday celebrations.

Victoria has been in the spotlight again recently as she opened up about her eating disorder in a new Netflix series. She also answered husband David's claims about her food choices.

Now, a source close to the Peltz family has come out with a reason they think the 'feud' began between Nicola and Victoria, and it's apparently all to do with a wedding dress.

'An honour'

According to the source, the rumoured 'bad blood' between Victoria and Nicola began because of a wedding dress.

Brooklyn proposed to Nicola in 2019, after just seven months of dating, and they soon started planning for their special day. They married in 2022 at the fancy Palm Beach estate in Florida, owned by Nicola's family.

The source says the dress was a big source of stress in the run up to the wedding.

"When Nicola and Brooklyn [Beckham] got engaged, Victoria told Nicola that she'd love to make her wedding dress, and Nicola said it would be her honour, that she would love to wear one of her originals," the source said.

They claim that time went on and no sign of the dress emerged, with Victoria allegedly phoning up Nicola's mother to tell her she wouldn't be making the dress.

"Nicola was painted as a brat for not wearing Victoria Beckham at the wedding," the source explained.

Film premiere

Despite this perceived portrayal, Nicola had worn dresses and garments designed by Victoria many times.

"She'd gone to a ton of Victoria Beckham fashion shows and events in Victoria's clothing. She even wore Victoria Beckham to her Lola movie premiere," said the source.

She wrote and directed Lola, and for the premiere on February 3, 2024, she wore Victoria's designs. This was two years after the supposed 'falling out' around the wedding.

Not only that, but she also wore a yellow silk ruffled dress for her engagement photos.

'A victim'

A separate source told PEOPLE that the dress claims are 'far from the truth'.

“A quick Google search will show how many times this pointless story has been recycled to try and paint Nicola as somehow a victim," they said.

"As ever, the Beckhams have stayed above it all despite constant attacks through the media. It’s sad as they love their son and they have all tried so hard with Nicola but it’s become impossible."

Nicola eventually wore a custom Valentino Haute Couture gown.

What has Nicola Peltz said about the 'dress feud' with Victoria Beckham?

Nicola denied any issues with the dress, telling Variety: "I was going to [wear Victoria Beckham] and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn't do it, so then I had to pick another dress."

She stressed: "She didn't say 'you can't wear it'; I didn't say I didn't want to wear it. That's where it started, and then they ran with that."

Brooklyn added: "I've learned they're always going to try to write stuff like that. They're always going to try and put people down. But everyone gets along, which is good."
