It's been a few weeks now since the Philadelphia Eagles absolutely thrashed the Kansas City Chiefs at the Super Bowl earlier this month (9 February).

While Chiefs' tight end, Travis Kelce, was clearly gutted by the 40-22 loss, he's since revealed the unusual way his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, helped him through it.

Speaking in a post-game interview right after the loss, Travis took the time to praise the winning team, explaining to the numerous reporters crowded around him: "Hats off to the Eagles, they got after us, all three phases.

"We couldn’t get it going offensively. They just got after us on all three phases. You don’t lose like that without everything going bad. We haven’t played that bad all year."

Travis went on to note that the Chiefs 'just couldn’t find that spark, couldn’t find that momentum', and is now reportedly considering his future.

And, in the latest episode of his and his older brother Jason Kelce's New Heights podcast, Travis revealed Taylor's tunes helped boost his mood when feeling low.

"The only way to find yourself in the light is to find yourself in the dark first," Travis explained to Jason when discussing what genre of music he gravitates towards when sad. "I listen to music that is very telling of my mood - yes."

While Jason said he loves 'sad country songs', Travis continued: "I just listen to Taylor’s songs. She has something for everything."

Agreeing, Jason said: "No matter what mood, you can find some Taylor music."

"And how the Eagles broke my heart," Travis added, referencing the Super Bowl loss.

According to a report made by the The Athletic earlier this month (13 February), the Chiefs want to know whether or not Travis will be retiring and he's now reportedly got until next month (14 March) to decide whether or not he'll continue his career in the NFL.

Travis previously opened up about his plans for the next season on an episode of his New Heights podcast which aired the day before such reports (12 February).

"I know everybody wants to know whether or not I'm playing next year, and right now, I'm just kicking everything down the road. I'm not making any crazy decisions," he said.

Travis went on to note that the 'biggest thing' for him and his teammates right now is 'being there' for each other and 'understanding'.

"I'm gonna take some time to figure it out. And, I think I owe it to my teammates that if I do come back, it's a wholehearted decision. I'm not half-assing it, and I'm fully here for them," he said.
