Travis Kelce's mum reacts to son meeting Prince William at Taylor Swift concert

It's not everyday your child gets to meet a member of the Royal Family, but for Travis Kelce's mum, his meeting with Prince William earlier this year was particular special for one reason.

The sportsman and the future King of England unexpectedly came face-to-face at one of Travis' girlfriend Taylor Swift's shows at Wembley Stadium, which William attended with his two eldest children, George and Charlotte.

For those with a hazy recollection of the collaboration we never knew we needed, allow us to jog your memory.

Back in June, the big-name power couple Travis and Taylor sent the internet into a frenzy when they shared a snap on social media, where they were seen posing alongside three very familiar faces.

'Anti-Hero' singer Taylor had wrapped up one of the London dates of her sell-out Eras tour just minutes earlier, where she initially shocked fans by bringing her Kansas City Chiefs beau out on stage.

This marked the duo's first appearance at one of her show's, after she'd rocked up to support him in several of his NFL games in the months prior.

And the night was then made extra special when the couple ran into several members of the British monarchy backstage at Wembley Stadium.

Later, they shared a sweet selfie alongside Prince William, his eldest son George, 11, and daughter Charlotte, nine.

And though Travis would go on to describe the chance meeting as 'awesome', it was his mother that would still be yapping on about her son's experience months later.

Speaking to Extra this week, 71-year-old Donna Kelce firstly claimed her son was intimated to meet a Royal.

"He said that, 'When you meet people like that, you know when the royals come in or Paul McCartney or Hugh Grant… somebody’s in the suite, you’re just like, who in this picture doesn’t fit? Why am I here and why am I even allowed to talk to these individuals? It just doesn’t seem right,'" she told the publication.

"But I think he’s handling it pretty well, he’s a pretty friendly guy."

In the days after their meeting with William, Travis himself branded the Royal father-of-three as the 'coolest motherf**ker'.

Speaking to his brother and fellow American football star Jason Kelce on their joint New Heights podcast, Travis gushed about the meeting.

"We met royalty, guys," the 34-year-old began.

"There was royalty at the show.

"I got there early and got to meet Prince William. How bout that? Your Royal Highness. Dude, he was the coolest motherf**ker. He was so cool."

Jason then chimed in: "He was awesome. He was a good dude."

Travis continued, this time addressing British etiquette: "He was there with little George and Charlotte, and they were an absolute delight to meet.

"I wasn't sure if I was supposed to bow to them - courtesy [or] just be an American idiot and shake their hand. We wanted to be polite, especially on this side of the pond."

Jason, who is the former Philadelphia Eagles Centre: "We did get a warning because, honestly, we don't know the actual [etiquette].

"Because we weren't at an elegant, official royal event, we didn't have to bow. If it would've been an official meeting-of-royalty event, then it would have been that."

He concluded: "They were wonderful people, and that's what it's about. They're part of a monarchy... [it's] hard to be a down-to-earth human being - I would assume. But [they] came off that way completely."
