A body language expert offered their thoughts about how Kylie Jenner's reaction to David Tennant's joke about her and Timothée Chalamet.

Chalamet, 29, and Jenner, 27, were just two of many celebrities who gathered at the Royal Festival Hall within London's Southbank Centre to celebrate this year's BAFTAs ceremony on Sunday (16 February).

At one point during the evening, host David Tennant made a beeline for Chalamet, who was being nominated for Leading Actor for his role in the Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown.

Approaching Jenner and Chalamet sat in the audience, Tennant said: "Here is someone else who deserves a special mention.

"We're very lucky enough to be joined tonight by the runner-up in the recent Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest in New York. Welcome to the BAFTAs."

Shaking the actor's hand, he added: "There is a definite likeness there."

But Tennant didn't stop there.

He took things further, as he turned to Jenner and said: "Good attention to detail - you're with a Kylie Jenner lookalike!"

To which The Kardashians star replied: "It's me!"

Fans were quick to realise that it appeared Jenner hadn't quite understood the joke, as one said: "I genuinely think Kylie didn’t even get that joke."

Another spotted the reaction and said: "She really didn’t get his joke though."

And now, a body language expert has analysed the interaction to reveal exactly what he thinks The Kardashians star 'felt' about Tennant's bantering.

Speaking on behalf of Prime Casino, Darren Stanton told Tyla that the couple's relationship - which has yet to be officially confirmed by the pair - 'appears to be quite a new one'.

"I know they have been rumoured to be together for almost two years now, but they have only recently started appearing together regularly and this may be the reason it seems new," he said.

Darren also noted that the pair seemed 'very much in love' but noted that Jenner's positioning was 'slightly reserved'.

And as for the Tennant joke?

Well, Darren assures: "They seemed to enjoy the banter with David Tennant and to enjoy joking around with each other.

"They reacted to the jokes very well, their smiles seemed genuine - there were smile lines and crow's feet.

"Their reactions were also very in sync suggesting a strong relationship and that joking around together is a big part of said relationship."

The expert went on to claim that Chalamet and Jenner 'appear to be very much in love with each other, but he seems especially besotted with her'.

"He is always leaning in very intently in their conversations and she is staying in the same position. This could also be because this is his world and she is newer to it so is slightly more reserved," Darren continued.

"In a lot of the photos of them she is clinging on to him, suggesting that she is using him for support. Their relationship appears very mischievous and slightly childish in the best possible sense."

He carried on: "They are in their own bubble and there is a childlike joy to the way they are whispering and joking with each other. Although he is always leaning in to speak to her, he is making her laugh and they appeared to be joking around with each other throughout the show.

"They are clearly in a very good place together. She appears to be more dominant though and non-verbally he, judging by his positioning in their conversations, is obviously head over heels for her."
