Taylor Swift fans can’t get over Travis Kelce’s mum’s ‘autopilot response’ when asked about their relationship

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship has been a whirlwind romance, but fans can’t stop talking about the ‘autopilot response’ Travis’ mum gave in a recent interview about the pair.

Taylor and the NFL player have been going strong since last year, with the pair often being seen going on date nights and Travis supporting her on her Eras Tour.

While his dad, Ed has praised her when speaking to the Los Angeles Times, some were wondering what Donna thought of it all.

Ed previously commented that the pop star brought massive attention at Travis’s games, but when the mum was asked about their romance by Entertainment Tonight, viewers were left a little baffled.

The singer’s relationship to the Chiefs sport star has been through its ups and downs, with major speculations that their romance is fizzling out.

With rumours of a contracted ‘break up’ scheduled, which were quickly cleared up by Travis’ team, people turned to Donna to see what she made of it all.

Appearing at the New York City premiere of Travis' acting debut Grotesquerie, she was asked about Taylor and Travis’s relationship and how the pop star has been enthusiastically cheering on her beau in the stands with his family.

She replied: “It’s still new. I don’t really have any profound thoughts or anything like that. We just have the best time cheering him on.

“I think that it’s important to support the people you really care about and so I think that that was very helpful.”

Unfortunately, her comments about the relationship have left people saying that she had auto responded, as their relationship is over a year old, and is certainly not new.

One person wrote on Reddit: “I imagine she made up some sort of response early on and just goes on autopilot when asked anything about them now.”

Someone else said: “Saying ‘it’s still new’ about a year-long relationship between two people in their 30s (who appear to be serious about each other) is far from generic, IMO. A little bit wild actually.”

Another user chimed in with a hilarious wish: “That's so funny actually. I want her to just keep up that auto response forever. Being interviewed days after their wedding like ‘oh, you know. It's still new. I wish them the best. He has a game next weekend, we just have fun cheering him on.’”

Most people seemed to find some humour in it and thought that mamma Kelce was sick of the questions she was being asked and so just said whatever she could think of.

But a lot of commenters were surprised that she had dubbed it a new relationship, considering how long they have been together, and how often they spend time together.

This came after 35-year-old Travis, who is represented by Full Scope, denied the rumours about their relationship being a PR stunt and even instructed lawyers to get involved.

The Daily Mail were informed by Full Scope: "We have engaged our legal team to initiate proceedings against the individuals or entities responsible for the unlawful and injurious forgery of documents."

That break up date was September 28, and they’re still going strong.
