Taylor Swift fiercely defended by fans after people spotted NSFW detail on her body

Taylor Swift may be a 14-time Grammy winner and one of the most influential women in pop music, but a rather 'X-rated' mark on her body shows she's only human.

The 'Cruel Summer' singer's record-breaking Eras Tour came to a close in December of last year after a whopping 149 shows across five continents, leaving Swifties with fond memories and the 35-year-old in serious need of a break.

There were countless memorable moments during the tour, including Swift's boyfriend Travis Kelce joining her on stage in London and her dad, Scott, handing out chicken tenders to delighted fans mid-show.

But there was one moment at a show in Stockholm, Sweden that became the topic of much debate online.

Back in May, the star performed at Stockholm's Friends Arena and a load of fans were convinced they'd spotted a hickey on Swift's neck while she sang at the piano.

But a larger number of Swifties were quick to leap to the singer's defence, pointing out it could just as easily have been a burn from hair straighteners, a scratch from one of her many costume changes or even some smudged lipstick.

A fan posted footage of the performance to TikTok with the caption: "Someone's feeling 'So High School' with a hickey," noting the maroon smudge on the star's neck

The video subsequently went viral and prompted a deluge of comments.

One person wrote: "Yall need to calm down it could literally be a scratch from a costume change. If it was a hickey her team would’ve covered it."

Another said: "It’s probably a burn. Taylor’s too classy for that. She’d hide it."

But not everyone was so convinced - or thought it was anything to be ashamed of.

One fan commented: "So? I mean normal people have hickeys but bc Taylor Swift has one it’s a big deal?"

Someone else added: "DAYUM GORLY!!! LOVIN LOUDLY AND IM HERE FOR IT."

While a third chimed: "I'm convinced she's having the best loving of her life. Living her best life! I'm loving it!"

Swift will likely attend this weekend's Super Bowl as boyfriend, Travis Kelce's team, the Kansas City Chiefs, goes head to head with the Philadelphia Eagles at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

And people are wondering whether Kelce might mark the occasion by proposing to Swift.

When asked if there might be an engagement ring waiting for the 'Blank Space' singer during a press conference earlier this week, the tight end had a very clear response.

"A Super Bowl ring? Next question."
