One half of the 1000-Lbs Sisters has been forced to wait for her major surgery following her remarkable weight loss journey, and the reason is shocking.
Tammy Slaton, along with her sister Amy, have been in the limelight for years thanks to their prior appearances on their show, The 1000-LB Sisters, which documents the pair living with morbid obesity.
Out of the pair, Tammy, 38, was the heaviest and also the most afflicted with health problems due to her size.

Tammy is at the centre of the show and has been for six seasons, with their show originally premiering in 2020.
Tammy once weighed a shocking 725 lbs and has had her transformational weight loss documented on the show, which included her health problems in shocking detail.
But thankfully, after shedding an overwhelming about of weight after a 30 day stay in hospital, she no longer needs a wheelchair to get around. And in recent scenes, she was shown to now weigh 303.8 lbs, something she called 'unbelievable'.
Having lost nearly 500 lbs, she revealed that she is still insecure about her excess skin and hopes to have it removed.
During a doctor's appointment, Tammy was told: "You’ve got head-to-toe loose skin. It’s going to take several operations and several healing phases."
But there’s a problem standing in her way.
Even though she has accomplished so much through her journey, she may have to wait a long time to be able to get the skin removal surgery done.
She needs to lose another 100 lbs to qualify, bringing her right down to 203 lbs.
But Tammy has been doing amazingly on her approved diet, and there’s no way this is going to be what stops her from getting what she wants.
Redditors took to comment on Tammy’s surgery and acknowledged her challenges.
One person asked: “Did I understand correctly, the doctor wants Tammy to lose another 100 pounds and get down to 200 before she can have skin removal surgery??
“I understand wanting her to lose more, but 200 seems extreme. She was over 700 pounds, she probably has at least 50 pounds of excess skin on her now. I feel bad for her, she must be so uncomfortable and it’s just going to get worse the more weight she loses.”
Even though it’s a lot of weight for her to lose, one person in the comments understood the pain, but said it is necessary.
They said: “I have had skin removal surgery. They want you to lose as much as possible so they can remove as much skin as possible. That’s all.
“I agree that I don’t believe Tammy understands what a major surgery skin removal(s) is going to be for her. It’s going to be terribly painful plus she’ll have drains. … Fortunately, she’s young but she’s in for several years of surgeries. Bless her heart. She’s done a great job in her weight loss journey.”
They added: “She still is over 50 percent fat according to that test her and Chris did, so yes she still has a lot to lose. Plus I know we can’t tell for sure on tv, but she appears to be pretty short so she would need to get to a healthy weight for her height as well.”
“You have to remember that Tammy is barely 5 feet tall. This is based on her being shorter than Amy and Amy’s height is documented in her mug shot as 5’3”
